When did your Titan die? Anyone in the 200,000 mile club?

With the new job I am doing about 25k in miles each year.
Truck currently has 130,000 (its a 2005) and not sure if I should be looking into a new truck.
Don't really want to buy unless I have too and hoping I can make it to 200,000+ without major issues.
Anyone get to the 200,000 mile marker yet with their Titan?

Worked on a pest control truck back in 2012, it was an 04 Titan SE with 380,000 miles. Still ran great and drove perfect. Been a while since ive seen it, most likely over 400,000 by now.

Lots of people on here. This comes up about every other month or so. If you're worried, drive it until it breaks down, then buy something new if you don't want to fix it. Few people on here have had any engine or transmission trouble.

Yeah, i rarely hear of actual Motor/Transmission problems (other than ones that neglect maintenance, or are really abusing their truck on/off road and on the track)

I met a fella last week who used to own a 2005, and it had 225 K when he got rid of it. He was thrilled to have been a Titan owner!

My 2010 had 230k when it got totaled. Still ran like new. Bought it back from the insurance company. Start it every week. Just need to straighten the frame. ( my buddy's neighbor has a frame machine when we get time)

i even take it to nissan for a service every now and then.
Is that supposed to be a good thing? My local dealer does lousy work and has a main focus of trying to up-sell and rip its customers off recommending things they dont need.

one example, took truck in around 30K miles for some recall/warranty work and they tried to force a fuel injector cleaning on me (obviously not needed and greatly overpriced) and then had the audacity to ask me to sign paperwork saying I "denied recommended maintenance" in a last ditch effort to make me feel like i was doing something wrong and would pay for it down the road.
Not to mention they struggled to repair the most basic items, such as telling me after waiting for two hours that they couldnt find my windshield washer reservoir fluid leak because it was raining out and the truck was wet underneath. What? I just told you what was wrong with it, and you cant wipe it off with some rags, fill it up, and verify its cracked? Anybody with an inkling of mechanical ability or common sense can do that.

But i suppose not all dealers service departments are this bad, but they are trying to make more profits on that end of the business compared to the sales end....beware

My 06 is right about 86k, and I plan on running her until she dies, hopefully a long time from now. Besides, I'm to busy fixing everything else that goes wrong with these trucks to have any time to worry about the motor

I have several customers with over 200K and one guy has 2 04 fleet Titans with over 300K. My personal 05 has 174K and still strong and rattle free.

one thing about these trucks that separates them from ford gm etc is the power train in these. The toyota is good and IMO behind us in that department then everyone else. I dont think we know the answer yet how many miles there good for. These arent domestics where after 120,000 miles there burnt out. I would say 300,000 miles or 450 KM and there is no indication on that number either. Our problems from early years like the ECU Delta sensor brakes are worked out for the most part. My 2007 had the cooler hose issue where i over heated the transmission and my delta went last month common issues but at 112,000 miles its a absolute beast.

Thats why I love this site the guys who own these trucks know exactly whats going on and what we have, everyone else just looks.

I was at my local machine shop awhile back to inquire about having some head work done on my son's 4-Runner motor. The guy who runs the machine shop noticed I was driving the Titan- he started asking me questions about what motor it had and such. He told me he NEVER see's late model Nissan motors/heads come in his shop for repairs- gets Toyota's in daily. Just confirmed what I already suspected!

my shop as well and Nissan in town. the claim is less than a handful of either motor or transmission's and some of those that have been replaced were from brutal abuse.

Nissan I should say did say yes the hoses, rads and early days rear ends but not as bad as the internet makes them out to be.

There's plenty of domestics with 250k miles that I know of personally. Back in 2004, when this 5.6 was introduced, it was a beast. All aluminum block, 6 bolt mains, 32 valve, dual overhead cam, aluminum heads, etc. What more can you want from a motor? Maybe variable valve timing, which came later. Anyway, its still a beast, and the jatco 5 speed with shift kit is strong as well. I haven't really kept up with the newer trucks, or what Nissan did to get 390 HP out of the same motor on the 2016.
