Just purchased a used but like new 2015 Pro-4x CC. Bought a Tekonsha Prodigy 2 trailer brake controller because I have one in my Ford and like it.

Got it bolted in under the dash assuming it would be easy to find the trailer brake plug under there and plug it right in.

But I can't find the connector anywhere. eTrailer says it is under the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. I've searched everywhere and so long my neck is killing me.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The truck came with a Viper remote start and it looks like there has been some work done under there but that is all to the right of the steering wheel.

I really don't understand why Nissan would make it hard to find this plug on a truck with tow package. Very frustrated right now.

Appreciate any help you can send my way!

Could've been bc of previous mods. As u can see, mine is clamped right at edge under steering column. Viewable straight on from seat level. Mine of course is still %99 stock

Mine is in a very different place and very different type of plug even. Only mods are the remote start stuff and they are nowhere nearby the trailer brake plug. On my F150 is was easy to find and plug into.

This was a 30 minute job that should have taken 10. But, its done and everything works fine.

I used the same location. Drilled into the metal lip so no visible holes in the dash plastic. Hoping that my knee or foot won't hit it wen driving or getting in or out.

How much do these run? Is there anything that needs to be installed on trailer?

I think I paid $125 at eTrailer for the Tekonsha Prodigy 2 and the vehicle specific cable. You plug the cable into the back of the Prodigy and then into the plug under the dash that I had a hard time finding.

I'm not sure if trucks that came without the 7 pin connector in the rear will have the plug under the dash. You'll have to research that.

If your trailer has electric brakes then it should also have a 7 pin connector. So, you install the Prodigy as described above and plug your trailer's 7 pin plug into the 7 pin receptacle on the rear of the truck and it should all work. You'll have to set the Prodigy for the weight of your trailer (very easy) and that's it.

In most states if you're towing more than around 3000# you're required to have trailer brakes by law.

Mine is a Hayes Genesis proportional controller. I got it on EBay for $22. I dont have my trailer yet so even though it is installed... I left it unplugged so I dont have to see the "OC" flash ...meaning that no trailer is attched
