These yellow plastic clips are worn out and must be replaced.... unless I just glue the clips to the rods, or try to clamp them down even harder with tie wraps (which I still might try).

But is it possible to even buy these yellow tailgate rod clips without buying the whole actuator? If so, from where?

Just picked one up from a local part store and will be trying it out tomorrow. I bet it's the same.

Here's the right link... BUT it's not working for me. Perhaps they are threaded differently, but the rod still popped out of these plastic clips when trying to open the tailgate. Thought I had some spare tie wraps laying around.... But I'll try that with the original clips whenever it stops raining. I think that should definitely work.
