why hasnt anyone tried to bore the stock throttle body? or has someone tried and it is not possible? i have not looked at our oem throttle bodies. there are lots of reputable companies out there that can provide a good service to bore oem throttle bodies.
thoughts on this??

I really want to hear the answer myself. I don't like GM trucks, but am a fan of many of the components (Brainstorming a fabbed 9.25 IFS for my T for example) But a bored stocker might be an easier route. please answer the man!

Because 90mm is better than 74mm. And there isn't enough material in the oem TB to remove. Plus you would have to have a custom butterfly plate made. To get maybe 77-78mm, it's not worth the expense.

I picked up 21 rwhp 20rwtq thru entire power band going from stock 08 manifold, stock titan TB and custom 4in cai to the mgt90 90mm snout graft and ls7 90mm TB and using same 4in cai.

Biggest gain was at 5700rpm of 27rwhp. Power thru the rpm curve is what matters, not peak.

So hopefully the next gas engine titan will get a 90mm setup. Seeing how in stock form the VK56 engine was choked up and robbed by atleast 18-20rwhp.

Not including what a 4in intake gains over stock intake.

Also throttle response is much better. It's all in the hands of your tuner.

Mike Lowe runs the MGT90 and 90mm TB setup to achieve his 12.61@109 all motor 07 2wd crew cab

Walter Cheney uses mgt90 and 90mm TB setup to run 12.78 in a 4x4 2010 crew cab pro4x.

Ben Pack uses mgt90 and 90mm TB setup in his 2012 4x4 KC to run 13.1.

Daily driven trucks. And yes they are all cammed.

Nick titan SS runs 13.1-13.2 @104 with mgt90 and 90mm tb. He is 04 KC 2wd with over 200K miles and stock cams.

So these parts really help and they have great tuners.

i was reading up on the FT90 and seems some people were having issues upon start up in cold weather and needed to hold the gas pedal down. so its just that the stocker cant be bored much then, thats pretty much the answer right there lol there are people that will bore a stocker out with a new custom butterfly plate for 100 bucks.

i havent researched much but what is all needed now for the 90mm conversion as i thought someone was selling as a 'kit'. i will look this right now for more information but if someone has a nice answer that be great.

i got the bug to get more power now after hitting the track again after headers and uprev lol

What if tried to make an adapter plate for an ls intake? That way could literally shop the ton of different ls intakes and bolt it directly on instead of just the throttle body? That would probably turn into an extremely hot item for us Titan guys cuz we all want a lil more power. And the ls engine family is one of the highest supported out there. Several different intakes. Wonder how hard it would be to do.

Hmm. I've got a buddy who can build a ls upside down and asleep. He knows em pretty well. And he's got connections at a machine shop. May have to put heads together with him and see what could come up with. I mean a stock Titan intake doesn't look a whole lot different from an ls. So shouldn't be to difficult to get a blueprint drew up and all. Just need an extra Titan intake and he's probably got several ls intakes laying around. Definitely worth lookin into. If could get an adapter plate setup and started for decent it would open up a lot of intake options for us. Could order the adapter from whomever and then just pick an ls intake from whichever people whether be jegs, summit, anyone.

Just read the entire FT90mm thread. Your the only name I can find who is still on TT Danblp VM is full.
I have a 08 upreved with headers and would really like to get a 90mmTb. Do you still run yours or have you moved on?
I appreciate your help. I just got on TT about a year ago and got the cracked manifold and then went with Cajuns, JBA's and uprev.
Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance....
