Hi friends. I had a drivers side window regulator motor go bad. It started out intermittent then got to where i had to pound the door panel while holding the window switch up or down, to it finally staying in the down position. I knew I could get a used one from the local salvage yard but was desperate to get it up (TWSS) right then. Anyway I decided to take it out so I could get the window in the up position then reinstall. And that weekend go get a replacement. While I had it out I notice I could take apart the motor. I took the 3 screws out of the cover then greased the corkscrew shaft as well as both ends. also blew out the dust and made sure the brushes was free to move. Put it all back together and slid a table by the door to lay the regulator on so I could plug it in and try it. Boom took off. I re installed it and put back together and it works better than it has in years. Fast and smooth. I wish I took pictures but I have another window starting to strain so I will do it soon and take pictures as I do it. Hope this helps those that don't have the cash to just replace it right away and need some time. I know this isn't a permanent fix but a great temp fix.
NOTE:
Make sure that you plug the switch cable into the motor correctly or you will end up pulling the UP switch to roll it down and vise verse. Don't ask me, other than the obvious, how I know it. lol
