Hey guys searched but didnt really see a thread for it so here it is. Thinking about tinting my front windows but not sure what percent. I like the looks but dont want to go over board. Heres my concerns
· Being able to see at night?
· Screwing up and looking ****ty
· What percentage should I do?
· Being pulled over for it.

If any one has tinted front windows please post a pic with percentage and how you like it please. Thanks in advance!

Love my window tint. Hated driving for a week without it. I did 20% which is technically illegal in Texas but legal in some other states. It's too damn hot here so I wanted some help with that. Pretty easy to see out of even at night. The back windows are about 10% which IS legal. Harder to see at night but not as bad as my old limo tint.

This one the front window is actually rolled down. I guess I don't have as many pictures of my truck as I thought. Just got it! :)

I got them to match my rears. Turned out (per Cop after my $236 ticket) the rears are 17% or at least that's what the front registered. Paid the ticket and still have the tint on lol. He got me at night, it'll take 1 more ticket for me to take it off hahahaha.

How did you guys install? Would like to save some money and do it myself. I heard some people take out there window so its easier to apply? I really dont wanna have it look like crap on the in or outside. In thinking 20% after seeing that as my rears are already the factory tint.

Don't do it yourself. Take it to a reputable shop. I have been pulled over twice since tinting. Not for tint (18%), but no ticket or mention of it. I would post a picture but it's an undercover CIA/DEA/HOA/SWAT/FBI/ASAP/BRB/ATF/LOL/DOJ car and it might blow my cover.

I just bought some DIY stuff off ebay last week. It should be here today. I went with 30% just to cut down on heat a little, don't really care about privacy.

Local tint places want about $100 for the front two windows. I bought this stuff for $12 with shipping, so if it doesn't work or I want a different %...no big deal.

I've tinted my own windows before and had done by a professional and I don't care where you buy it or how easy it is to install...you will never do it as good as the pros. Plus they've done it more times then you can count and the place around here offers a life time warranty and replacement if you want every 3-4 years. for 145 all the way around. I don't know if you can beat that. I would ask around about warranties also sense bad tint can get scratched or if a window gets busted out your not screwed.

If it's pre-cut, you could do it as good as the pro's. I've done several vehicles in the past with tint (non precut too) and it came out as good as any "pro" would do it.

I never heard of that kind of warranty. Around here, you only get free tint warranty replacement if something happens to the tint due to faulty workmanship or material quality.

$145 all the way aorund must be a special bro deal. Around here, a good tint shop will charge you $85-$125 just to do one rear window in a top quality metalized ceramic tint. Most of cheaper places don't give you the choice of really dark tint. I couldn't get less than 5% at the place I went to. I originally wanted 2% on my back window. $225-$325 is the going rate around here.

If you do the back doors and back window quite dark while doing a much lighter tint in the front doors you will probably get away with it. My last one I did 20% over the factory tint and 35% on the front doors.

I done three vehicles this way and no tickets. I have the same laws here. No tint at all on the front doors.

All my buddies that tried dark tints on the fronts got tickets and had to remove it.

In California you need to have 70% of the light visible on the front two windows and there are no restrictions on any of the rear windows. X2 on don't try this at home! I thought the exact same thing "it's only a couple bucks so if I f**k it up no big deal". Save ur $15 and the head ache it WILL give u. The lowest I was quoted here in San Diego was $80 for the front 2 windows. Lifetime warranty ?

The windows on my KC were smoked when I purchased it and the tint shop that did mine said they could match it, so I got my front 2 windows done for $60 I think?

I cant remember what he said the stock smoked back windows were, but he matched them perfectly. Id say it was 15% tint.
