I have an opportunity to buy a Zirgo ZFK18 el3ctric fan through Sears' Marketplace, meaning I can use my Sears credit card.

Anyone have any experience with this fan?

Obviously, I'd need to buy the wiring kit that has the thermostat & all, although I'm not quite sure I want to drill through my radiator. I hear that's the best way instead of dropping a thermostat down inside the radiator then put the hose back on just forgot to leak.

Then all of need to buy is a shroud.

Thanks!

Check out jaunty bishop posts about e fans. Are you looking to replace the clutched belt driven fan? Do you live in a warm climate? E fans do work, but I think Cory has proven that the oe fan is superior for cooling, despite marginal parasitic power losses

I wouldn't bother with e-fans. I had them on mine and if I had kept my Titan I likely would have gone back to OEM.

Some people will disagree, but the factory clutch fan is going to work much better than E-fans. I've had E-fans, both were SPAL 13" curved 11 blade setups with one of the best PWM fan controllers available. They worked fine for years... however... the A/C wasn't as efficient, and during florida summer heat in stop and go traffic the electrical system was put to the test keeping the fans going, as in the engine would idle higher to maintain.

The few hp you gain isn't worth the cooling efficiency of the clutch fan.

The clutch fan moves so much air at idle and low speeds its unreal. The clutch fan will suck a paper towel to an external transcooler mounted in front of the condensor without a fan shroud. Thats pulling some air. This is also with a Stillen 3 core radiator which is 1'' thicker than stock too. Check out my Trucool 40k install for pics, it shows this and a video.

Nissan did a great job with the cooling circuit.

If you really want to upgrade, get the OEM nissan 300ZX twin turbo 170* T-stat, cut the cage, install and go.

Yes, I am in the hottest of climates in the U.S. I'm in Oklahoma currently, but will be moving back to Dallas ASAP.

The clutch fans draw more power & fuel economy than that. I have 34.5" 67lb (each) 10 ply Load E Cooper Discoverer ST MAXX A/T's.

I went from 275/70/18 to 295/70/18. Its the 10 ply Load E that makes it so stupid heavy. Why can't tire manufacturers' make an aggressive A/T without being a Load Range E or D? Load Range C would be perfect. But I can put these tires one a Ram 3500 1 ton, air them up to max 80 psi & pull 35klbs+.)

So I need every bit of my power & fuel mileage as possible.

I obviously want more power, but I also need better fuel economy.

I'd keep the clutch fan, install the 300zx 170 T-stat. Bypass the internal trans fluid tube warmer and install an external trucool SR4588. That will help the transmission temps as well as help potentially prevent the failure of hte stock radiator cracking at the bottom end tank which plagues the titans.

You should also give Cajun or Seymore4 a call to get UPREV. They will help you with tuning which can aid you in some better fuel economy as well as performance all in one go around.

Both great to deal with and can help you with future modifications.

Im not looking just for performance gains, but fuel mileage too. Clutch fans rob 15-20hp. I've had a factory one in my 2008 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab Texas Edition. N3ver had any issues.

Yes, I do live in a hot climate. Dallas can get will into triple digits.
