is this still on sale? if so, am i understanding that i would be required to splice wires to install. im a plug-n-play kinda installer. i have done the splicing thing before and would much rather have plugs incase i want to go back and change things later. thanks in advance for the info.

also, i have an 04 SEw/ the graphite/steel cloth interior, which one would i need so that it would match?

Ya know, that looks pretty much like what the Doctor ordered to keep from having to splice. I wonder why you need 5-Harness Ends and where they plug into.

Maybe we can see the install instructions before you fork over the $$$$ ??? If this is what it looks like, I'm sure that there will be several sold very soon. So far, this looks like it'll be a great add-on for installing Tech's package deal.

I know this question isn't mine to answer but maybe this will help with your decision.

The installers who installed mine broke my Center Console all to h*** and I was very p***ed-off that happened on my new truck. Fortunately, I was dealing with an AWESOME Sales Supervisor (kinda backwards that the Sales Team was great and the Techs were the idiots) so when I went ballistic over their piss-poor work, he offered to pay for ALL replacement parts free of charge w/o me having to ask for it.

When I went to buy the parts, I found the the DVD Console is the exact same price as the non-DVD so that's what I ordered for them to buy. As I went to change it out, I found about 12 missing screws that were causing some new-found rattling so I added those to the order and the wiring was a disaster so I removed and reinstalled the whole system the "right" way for free.

It's really your decision if $85 is worth the factory appearance. Having done it, I would do it again because I think it's worth it not worrying about the wires getting messed with by junk or losing things through the hole that was drilled in the side. - Just my $.02

I just got my console. It was $82 for console and $22 per bracket. But no screws - so I have to track down something that will fit.

Regardless of which brackets you use you will have to drill some holes. The Nissan brackets don't line up with the holes on the player and the M&D holes don't line up with the Nissan dvd insert. I haven't decided which brackets I want to use. Right now I'm leaning towards the M&D ones to save the $44 on the brackets. Correction - I found that the Nissan brackets will fit if you remove two existing screws from the M&D player which hold the front face on and replace them with longer screws that come with the M&D player.

Also, you need some weather stripping or something to fill in the gap around the M&D player in the console. It's too small. I'm hoping to find some black foam tape to fill the gap (ideas anyone)?

In case anyone else is wondering ...
I just ordered mine, am overseas at work, and am looking for some general information so I can install it when I get back in from work.
What other parts did anyone order or purchase for this mod? Any plug & play kits, wiring harness, console, and anything else....Where did you get them at? Thanks!!!!! :wierd:

What is the remote on wire used for on the M&D DVD player? It player has a ground, 12v+ constant, 12v+ ACC, 12v+ remote on.

Pops,

That's the same one. I noticed your image has a better description of the remote on/off than my book does. Should this be wired to the FES enable? It would seem to tell the factory head unit the DVD player is on. (the blue wire for on the power connector, not the IR sensor)

BTW - anyone have a clue what the phone jack is for? Is this for an external head phone?

Don't connect anything from the player to the factory harness except for splicing RCA cables for the Red and White Audio Output. Don't mess with the Blue wire either. It was used to provide power to the older Monitors that had an "Auto Power On" feature.
