52,500 mile service I did included, changing oils in front and rear diff., engine, transfer case. Did a drain and fill of transmission, four new quarts of J fluid. I took all of these samples and had oil analysis completed. The data is attached. Most everything looks really good. Surprised how well the front diff. oil was after 52,500 miles on the original Nissan oil. The rear diff. has the PML cover and it is in good shape. Transmission had not been touched until now. The transfer case I have some concerns with, there are soem high wear metals and a lot of mung was on the drain plug. So if you use the 4x4 much I would look into changing it. I used Royal Purple Max ATF in the transfer case. Also, changed to Royal Purple in the front and rear diff. The Supertech 75W140 from Wal-Mart went up to $9.99 a quart, and I got the Royal Purple for $8.50.

Just got my Blackstone report on Mobil 1 5w30 truck/suv synthetic. I have been running this oil every 5k for the last 20k miles. This report says 4200, but it was closer to 5000. I drive a lot of stop and go in Houston, so I change every 5k. I also use the M1-110 Mobil One filter.

Nice Mobile one report. As for running purple in your diff you might want to check my post above. I noticed my first transfer case change looked really black and burn with only 25k on it. I filled it with mobile1 Synthetic ATF this last time and changed it at 25k again. This time I could still see alot of color in the oil.Although it was a bit dark, it was far from black like the previous change and there was alot less crap on the magnet compared to the oridional break in oil.

I'd suggest changing your transfer case before Nissan Recommends, at least the first time.

:bump:

Looks like the Mobil One 5w30 truck/suv formula is working well. Blackstone says I can go 8k between changes, but I'll stick to 6k.

Well worth the extra $ for the syn.

I had a great repot using Pennzoil Platnium 5w30.

Curious as to why you bother to get an oil analysis? A synthetic is hardly used up after 6000 miles and Blackstone advised you could easily go 8000 miles, yet you are sticking to 6000 miles?

I figure that's a happy balance between the mfg schedule and the Blackstone report.

I guess the bottom line is that syn will last at least twice as long as dino oil.

If something different works for you, then great.

When I purchase my Titan the first thing I plan to do is a full fluid change to all synthetic oils. Good idea?
If your buying your truck new I don't suggest putting in synthetic until at least your third oil change. Your engine and other moving parts need to seat properly and work in a mesh with eachother, there should be very minimum wear here, but the synthetic may not allow everything to work in properly and you could have premature damage to certain parts. Just my 2 cent's anyways, speaking as an heavy engine specialist with Caterpillar...

One of the leading reasons I switched all my vehicles to PP actually, so...Thanks for the report!

AF, memsu - what air filter are you guys using?

I'm using M1 filter m110 from walmart. I get the oil there might as well get the filter. A napa gold ( made by wix) is great filter too.

Here is my latest oil analysis using Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30. The first oil analysis was with Amsoil SSO 0W30.

I'm gonna give the Mobil 1 advanced fuel economy 0W-30 a shot next time, because of the special they have in April.
Aren't you concerned about switching your oil brand and weight so often?

Air Filter - AFE air filter in stock air box.

Oil Filter - Factory Nissan
And there doing the job nicely I might add. You must frequent Bitog as well. I put PP in everything I have now. I think all the synthetics are fine but PP seems to turn in some especially good reports at a lower price.
