Alrighty, I need a basic comparison of the two. Price vs Power? Options? Ease of use?
I have an 07' 4wd CC Big Tow w/ 35's. I only have a K&N replacment filter in the stock box. No other mods. I'm not really into racing (although I do enjoy dusting a few smart arses every once in a while) basically just need a little better gas mileage and some more towing power for these tires.
Any opinions or help would be appreciated alot! I'm really tired of reading all the other threads :rollingey and somebody that thinks they have a good idea of how these two tuners compare could help me make up my mind.
Thanks,
Jason

We haven't seen any Hypertech 1/4 mile gains or MPG yet. I offered to test the Hypertech at the track along with my BD on the same day, but Hypertech never answered my PM.

I'm sorry I thought I had replied back to your message.

And as for MPG I expect to have a few testimonials from Titans owners who have seen some improvment in fuel economy when they were able to keep their foot out of it :)

EDITED: I had Sudden Urge mixed up with a different member who I believe has headers and cams. That is why I said I wouldn't recommend running our tuning. As other members have already proven the Max Energy performs well with both CAI and Exhaust systems. (There are members with both CAI and Exhaust running the Max Energy)

Its tough to give a comparison without looking like your bashing a product. I say flip a coin.

He really doesn't have too much for mods! So with just a cat-back and CAI, we shouldn't run your tune???

I know that was funny. If Darnell thinks a CAI and catback are too many mods, that would rule out 1/2 of the Titans on each forum...lol.

Amen.... my thoughts exactly. Is their target market only completely stock Titans?

I am running a CAI and exhaust, and haven't had any issues.

MPG....Lets just say that normally around town I get 18mpg(give or take 0.5). I have a light foot. After putting the hypertech in, I got 17.5 on the first tank. That was with 10-12 WOT runs from 0-80mph. Also traveled to the top of Mt. Lemmon in Tucson AZ(20miles from base to pizza/cookie shop), as well as my 'round town' venture. I wasn't exactly 'nice' to the go pedal and still busted out basically the same mpg. Next week, I'll start being 'nicer' to the truck and see what kind of mpg I can belt out here.

Now, towing my wifes car from Tucson to Kingman, I was using a Uhual car carrier(can't wait to get my own trailor), a total of roughly 5500lbs. The route was tucson I-10~> I-17 to highway 74 to highway 60 to rt93 to rt66 in Kingman, I averaged 12.8mpg. That's including the 10 mile hill on rt 93. I actually passed a dodge 2500 cummings up and around that grade. :jester: Sorry I don't have any towing mpg numbers from previous experiences, but I see guys on here happy with 9-10mpg. Hope this helps.

Thanks Darnell, It would be nice if someone with the BD could add their before and after dynos to this thread. Maybe they're scared to, IDK?

Thanks DarkBlueta, your response is exactly what I was hoping to get on here. This thread could help myself and others make up their minds as well as to which programmer is more suited for them. Thanks again for your time.
I'm still undecided, but Hypertech does have the better price right now.:smoke:

Jason, you can expect a .310 lower ET running the 1/4 mile with the BD reg 87+2 tune. I had 2.16 60' times prior to BD, so that better ET, in my testing, is mostly due to tuning and only partly from WOT restriction removal.

Here are some dynos from an independent source on an individuals modded truck. And here are the track times from this truck as well. Note the date. Hypertech is finally bringing their product up to par by offering removal of the WOT restriction and 07 support. Its your money and go with the one you feel will best suit your needs. I can assure you that Bully Dog has their own dyno graphs but anytime your looking at results you have to consider the source. We verified the WOT voltage that same night at the track using Cipher as well as verified that the tune was still a bit on the rich side (conservative).

Do you have a dyno graph from Bully Dog? I would love to see one, but I can't find one, I searched here and on their site and it doesn't seem like they've released any dyno graphs for their Titan tune.

go with the bullydog it will pay itself off after a couple of $20 degree advances for your buddies. but if you can do advances with hypertech then your back to square one. but i did read on some of the specs that hypertech will give 20+ lbs of torque while bullydog will add 45+ lbs of torque

Chieflikalotapus,

That 45 ft-lbs of TQ they claim is just from removing the WOT and isn't a real gain. We picked up something like 54 ft-lbs of TQ when we removed the WOT, but again it's not like that power is going to be there at higher speeds.

Please tell me your joking. Bully Dog had their dyno's on here back in April! Darnell, you have made my day. All I see in here is you being a salesman. All I see the guy from Bully Dog doing in here is answering questions and taking care of issues. Now go put some neons on your truck and make a drift video.
