Hopefully the attatchment pics will show up. First time trying pics.

Anyways, after several months of saving and buying last weekend I removed the seats and carpet and installed everything.

Kenwood DXX712 headunit with 7" touchscreen, 10" kenwood sub, Kewood GPS unit, iPod video and audio, and back up camera. So much fun watching music videos while driving. The headunit is more then I could have asked for. I did build a carputer to install and decided not to. It sits in my closet.
I have Memphis components in all four doors with crossovers. All factory locations and sounds awesome!!! I wanted everything to look factory. I even uploaded a nissan emblem for the background image for the headunit. There is a way to change the start up screen instead of the Knwood screen you can customize it. I havent figured it out yet..

I may end up experimenting with another sub. I dont like a lot of thump, I like a drum to sound like a drum should. Sometimes this sub sounds muddy. Not as sharp as I like.

Sweet man, I bet it sounds sick. How much was the head unit if you don't mind?

I got the head unit from Sonic Electronix for about 500.00. I couldnt afford the all in one head unit, so I got the headunit and added the gps and cam as I could afford it.

The cam makes hooking up my boat alot easier

I use to have a ported box with 2 10s but now I am going to have a box with 4 10s. I still need to get the gps for my HU.

You say it sounds muddy can you explain that a little bit more?

Wow, that is a good price. By adding the gps, do you mean you uploaded software or you have separate gps unit? Sorry.

yes its an add on. I got the gps for 200.00 on ebay. Its installed under my front passenger seat. The all in one is about 1k. I couldnt afford that all at once. So I bought everything seperate. Didnt save much, but I could afford alittle at a time.

As far as a muddy sound with the sub. I like music to sound like it is live. A drum should sound like a drum. Not a reverb of a druuuuummmmm. Some songs it sounds great. Sharp and snappy like a drum should sound like. Other songs, not so much. Im experimenting to find out if its the the way the songs are recorded or a setting I can adjust.

Im used to the sound of my home system which is a Onkyo with Bose... music sounds the way music should sound on this:)

The Memphis components CRANK!!! Sound so clear and good. Most of the time I am very happy with the sound of this system. I just need to experiment with all the settings on the headunit and the Rockford amp for the sub. I would rather go with 2 8" subs front firing. I think that would reproduce music more accurate, or the way I like it.

Looking at those pics again reminds me.......I have to get a shorter screw for that clarion amp LOL

Take a better picture of the sub enclosureso I can see it and how big it is. . Also try wiring the sub out of phase. It will probably clean it up alot. The kenwood sub is actually very accurate in the right enclosure.

Out of phase meaning swapping the + and - correct?

As far as the enclosure goes, the sub is directly in the middle of the box. The distance from the edge of the sub to the edge of the box is the same all around. The box sits at a slight angle. The front of the box is about 4-5" tall and the rear of the box is about 6" tall. Its a sealed box.

I think your onto something. The place I bought the sub from made the box for me. I assumed they new what they where doing...WRONG!

I went to kenwoods site and there box demensions aer totally different. I also have learned that a perfectly square box with the sub in the center is a no no. Can make for bass resonates..? something like that. Doesnt sound good though.

I think I will make a box going by kenwoods specs.
