was wondering if anyone else ran into this issue. I bought my titan used and it was a repo... only came with one key and it wasnt the master key so ive been looking around to see if i can find a blank one and get it cut and programmed... i can get the cutting done but i am wondering if there is a way for the user to program it... I mainly need the master key so i can get to the external storage so i can get my cleats for some stuff i need to haul... if anyone has some insighte i would appreciate it.

I'm sure a locksmith can cut a new master key for you...AND , they will have to reprogram it. There is NO way for you to program a new key.

You will also need every key there with the truck when they do the programming.

...

BUT, drop by a Nissan dealer with your VIN and proof of ownership...and they can sometimes (most times) cut a key off your VIN, or a key-code on the truck. They keep this info stored for ~10 years after a model is released. (i.e., if you own a 2000 or later Nissan, the dealer should be able to cut a key for your vehicle).

whats a fair price to pay for this one of my keys got busted up so I have no spare now and it bothers me a bit.
im kinda of a cheap *** and ive been lookin on ebay, i guess im partially biased cause i used to sell stuff on there all the time but ive seen them on there from anywhere ranging 15 dollars to 50

I've been doing the same, I came across a few sellers listing Switchblade keys like the euro cars have and I'm really interested in a set when money permits. I used to drive a VW and really liked having the key and remote in one deal.

lol yea im interested in that as well, just dont know about the costs to the things cut and programmed... its a pain cause i dont have the master key for the darn thing:teeth:

ACE hardware can make exact copies now. They call them C3 keys.

Quality like OEM. They have a box to check your key to see if it is a chipped key. All ACE's should have it by now. Good cheaper source than dealer. Need an original though... and the new one doesn't always need programmed in the vehicle, as they are cloning them. Some vehicles have to be there though.

hrm well i wonder if this'll work then cause like said originally i need the master to open the external stow box and if i just clone this one arent i just re-creating my problem?

Yes, in that situation it would. But once you get a new master from the dealer, ACE may be cheaper for more keys.

called the stealership and they said that it was gonna cost bout 90 bucks out the door, 28 for the key and 60 for labor... not too bad i guess... was expecting like 300... called ace and they said that yes they do do it but... they cant for the titan cause its a special transponder and they cant program for that... looks like stealership ho!
