well i went and got a 02 sensor socket and it was not DEEP enough it wanted to bend the bend the boot at the top of the sensor too much .. so i will be returning that tomorrow ... i ended up disconnecting the clip and put the wire through the hole ,.. i do not recommend this since you risk pinching the wires too much .. i did and i will probably end up buying a new 02 sensor later on if i start to have issues.... ( oh well.. live and learn) ... anyway i got the passenger side heat shield off and BAM i see the crack in my manifold ... i dont know if its the only crack but i found it .. lol ..here are some pics .. I applied the liquid wrench to it.
1st... heat shield took way too long to get this dam thing off.. had to bend and haggle with it ...
2nd ... crack . you can kinda see it
3rd .. you should be able to really see the crack in this pic
4th ... a shot of the passenger side without the heat shield( and yes that is a yellow garden hose for the AC drip/ drain tube lol)

stock manifolds look like somethin doc brown would put on the time machine lol. makes me wish nissan would've installed long tubes from the factory.

IMPORT2NR, how many miles on your truck and what year? seein as you have cracked manifolds....weird?

DT's look awesome btw, after reading the some of the installation for headers on the titan, they def have to be easier than putting them on a 4.6L mustang lol.

good thread guys, it will be helpful when i get my headers eventually.

Its now a race to see who gets a vid up first, unless there is one up already and i overlooked it.

its an 04 bought brand new .. i currently have 86,000 miles on it .. they have been cracked for a while now .. and others have had cracked manifolds at 40,000 or so ...

and yeah there is a vid up from 04greent ... it may have been on a thread that was deleted... maybe he will repost on here

Crappy nissan manifolds mine are cracked on an 05 with 34K miles. Waiting to see how install goes for other before I decide to do mine or maybe have them done as after 9 stitches and 3 scars from cuts doing my lift I may just have them done though I'm usually a cheapskate and like to things myself to save some $$.

There are two o2 sensor tools.. The one I picked up is only about 1.5" tall with a gap to put the sensor wire through it. The ratchet wrench then sits off to the side away from the sensor and its wire.

Will try and get a photo this morning of it.

heres a link to what the socket i used looked like... i don't know what the black pieces are in the set but the socket itself with the SLIT in it and the ratchet attached right on top of it.is what mine looked like .... it just wasn't deep enough ..i mean it went all the way down but then the wires bent allot .. like an upside down "L" .. it felt like i was gonna pinch thme in such a way as to start rubbing through to the expose the wires...

wel .. i tried to do it myself .. and got stuck at the 02 sensors ... lol . i could not for the life of me get the damn things off... so after talking to the wifey i took it to a shop my firiends have been going to for some time now .. and they should be on no later than 7pm... i really wanted to do it myself . i hate having the truck in the shop ... aww well..... its getting done and i dont have to cut my sell up ...

AFR sensors are ALWAYS a PITA.

There is no real way to get them off easily unless you use some sort of breaker bar.

Well it looks like youll be the first to have them installed out of anyone who purchased them.

yeah .. i had a breaker bar as well .. but nothing ... i even sprayed em with the pb blast and liquid wrench and nothing .. all i was able to get off was the passenger side heat shield

also idk if its part of the install process but the guy who was working on the headers for me could not get to the very front bolt of the driver side manifold .. because the compressor was in the way ... so he had to unbolt the compressor and move it out of the way a little but to get it off...

i wont know install price untill after its done .. no more than 400 bucks though ... they initially told me they usually charge 110.00 each side but because of the way we have to access the manifolds its more expensive ... hopefully they will consider the fact that i removed the wheel well liners and the pass side heat shield ... lol.. that should knock off .50 cents .. lol

i will try and post up pics and vid later ... i took my camera with me to take pics of the install not realizing that i had left my memory card in the pc .. lol

Man if I can find someone to do mine for 400 bucks I will be all over it. Everyone around here wants 800.
