So I've been out of work for a month now, doing odd jobs where I can mostly off craigslist.
Is anyone involved in real estate in particular cleaning up foreclosures or know how I can get started doing this on my own?

you need a "in", someone that does all the contract work for a builder. Go in to a new development and look to see if their is a contractor like this and just talk to them, and being cheaper that the next guy dont hurt either. good luck.

Look into getting involved with Short Sales.. That is where things are heading and are picking up.

I did this a couple years ago with a buddy. His mother was a real estate agent that dealt with a number of banks listing their foreclosures. Try to find an agent that lists foreclosures and get on their contractor list. You could also try talking directly with the banks. Some banks hire contractors to trash out before they list them. Either way, you will have to bid the jobs.

I saw a lawn painting/dye company that is offering franchise opps for $3k. Its a huge trailer with all you need. I wish I could find the link.
