sorry this has prolly be done before but wondering what would be the difference between the MF 12258 and the FM 524553? i would have both put on by a muffler shop so the welding and piping of them is no biggie just want it to look close to stock since i am under warranty.

You "might" get 5 more HP from the magnaflow but you will not get the deep meanass growl you get from flowmaster!!!
Good luck with your decision and an exhaust change will not void your warranty if install correctly.

I prefer Magnaflow. I've used flowmasters before, but they all have that tin can sound. My last truck sounded like a UPS truck.

Best thing to do is search youtube for some clips and get an idea of what each sounds like.

Mine sounds like a meanass FedEx truck!!!

I begg to differ :redblob" Mine is deeper than the ocean and growls like a lion and i have a Magnaflow :teethmast

Magnaflow: power, sound, high flow, stainless steel.

Flowmaster: eh power, eh sound, eh flow, rust bucket material.

Stainless steel = cracks from heat since forever.

If my truck had your mods it would shatter your windshield.:)

BTDT with Flowmaster in the past, sounded like a$$. Dropped the Magnaflow on and not only did it sound better but it also ran better and had more power/torque.

This was like 10 years ago, though, but I've never had a reason to try Flowmaster again. I hate the sound with a passion. :D All I use now are Magnaflow, had them on my Mustang (Loved the sound and performance!) and have one on my Titan, couldn't be happier.

Opinions are like you know what..

Everyone has different tastes and hearing aids.

I love mine and have heard many mags and would not trade my FM for the very few hp increase!

Well of course, but stereotyping your username I wouldn't expect you to use anything BUT the Flowmaster. :eveilgrin

absolutely love my flows and have had many compliments about them, wouldnt trade em

Well you gotta look at it like this Magnaflow is an unrestricted flow so ur gettin pure sound from the enigine and stainless steel as to Flowmaster is chambered for fake sound and potential for rust. as for dude saying magnaflow is gonna crack cuz it stainless?? he's smokin crack.. magnaflow is lifetime warrantied as for flowmaster i dont think so. and if stainless cracks so easily why do they make headers from the same material?? according to ******* they should start making header from flowmster material instead. but i wouldnt buy em nor would anyone else for that matter but it all boils down to personal preference IMO

If you want the chambered muffler sound without any of the performance losses/crappy materials of Flowmaster, get an Aerochamber. If you want a smooth, deep sound with a lifetime warranty, Magnaflow hands down. I almost put some 5" round Magnapacks on my truck instead of the Aerochambers, but I wanted the chambered sound and the way my truck runs speaks for itself.

Liftetime warranty? HAHA!
Why have i rebuilt SO many stainless steel Jaguar mufflers that are stainless steel due to cracking from heat?
What are you smoking?
What gauge are the SS headers vs. the mufflers? I'm sure they are not PURE SS.. :eyebrow:

I'm not claiming to be an expert, but on several Ford Mustang drag race cars, and autox cars their mufflers never bust - various SS...MF, Bassanni...etc..etc Do jags use MF mufflets?

To the OP, for exhaust I typically go for looks (if it is visible) and sound. Yeah, *I* believe SS exhausts are longer lasting but you pay for that. Meanwhile you could probably buy 2 standard exhausts for the price of 1 SS - especially if you buy used.

I am a MF fan though.

yeah well i think both will be about the same for price and wasn't sure if there were more performance with one vs the other but i am kinda leaning towards the magnaflow. both sound pretty much the same from when i have listened on youtube.

Ya know, I can't talk specifically for Titans but from my research in the past the differences are tiny and some could argue that it is just variances in environments/dynos...yadda yadda. You can't go WRONG with MF, and some of the big brands and I include Flowmaster in that list. My mo-in-law has some flows on her '06 Mustang GT and they work great. No rust, nothing and they've been on a couple of years.

Sound/looks first
Performance

I think going to an o/r pipe would yield more benefits.
