Hey all just a little something thats been bugging me for a while. I get a clunk or more like a crunch sound when the truck hits 20kph (12mph). It only happens when i park the truck and shut it off. The next time i start it and start driving it does it at exactly 20 kph. I doesnt matter if i go slow or fast. anyway any thoughts would be great.

auto locking doors?

If the noise is coming from the lt side of your truck near feet that is part of the transmission look in your owner manual for a better understanding of whats up good luck
Yeah it sounds like its under my feet maybe some tranny issues.

auto locking doors?
No the doors dont auto lock.
I was kind of thinking it might have something to do with the locking diff I read that it only works up to 10mph or something. I dont know how it tells what speed you are going if its an electric sensor or something inside tranny or rear end.

Could be a stripped lower control A-arm bolt. I had a similar clunk on mine until I discovered that one of the eccentric bolts on the driver's-side lower A-arm was stripped.

I would guess that it is the ABS doing its Self Check, which is suppose to happen every time you start you truck and reach around 10 mph. My 06 has always done it and 86,000 miles later I still have no problems.

I actually do have a clunk in the front end also that i am trying to figure out. I installed some stuff from PRG ( front and back saws, traction bars and 2in lift blocks) Greg keeps telling me that its the uca hitting the coil bucket but it does it even when hitting small bumps. Im thinking lower A arm or something in the steering, oh ya i can also feel it bang on my feet.

That makes sense. Now that you mention that it does have an abs sound.

Check your tranny mount as well...we've had some trucks come in for that!

Scott
Ok thanks Scott. I have some other clunks in the front end too that i can feel on my feet. I am going to have to take a good look under there to see if i can figure it out. I cant stand things making noise i drive around most of the time with the radio and heater blower off just to listen for sounds.
