I like the look of my factory HU, and would like to keep it, but in my past experience, factory HU's havent given as good of sound (with subs and stuff). Is it possible to use the factory HU and still get good sq with subs?

so those are required to hook an amp up to the factory system?
yup yup. a 4ch for your doors and one for your subs. boosts the voltages for crystal clear sound.

Either of those will work. The PCH8 is obviously the better choice, but more money. I have the older version of what 9ball posted and I am happy with it.

If you want to keep the OEM radio and go for the absolute best sound, use the PCH8 or something like it. Most people are fine using the other one. If going with a regular LOC, I would suggest one like 9ball posted instead of the crappy ones at wally world!

What about the little tweeters i have on the pillars that came from the factory?
Most component speakers come with a crossover. The tweeters will run off of that crossover.

If keeping your OEM speakers for now, they will still work.

I'm running like a 35 dollar line out converter and it sounds great. The advantages of having an aftermarket headunit is they will allow u make all kinds of adjustments. If you are going to replace be replacing all the speakers, just get components all around and the new tweeters you can put in the stock location. Unfortunately that's not the best solution. It's better to have the tweeters closer to the mid-range speaker.

What I am in the process of doing is getting image tweeters and drilling holes in the A-pillars which will shoot the sound across the glass. I've noticed, and others will agree on this, that putting the tweeters in the stock location will make it sound like there are hot spots on the glass. The tweeters are very directional and they will just hit one spot on the glass and not sound up to their full potential.

I wasnt going to change any of the factory speakers.. Just was kicking around the idea of buying a kicker 1200.1 amp, and putting some subs in my truck. Another question, how does the titans electrical system hold up to an amp of that size?

With a 1200.1, you could easily over power the factory speakers and will need more to keep up.

I am not running anything that powerful. I am running about half of that and it does fine. I think with the proper sized wires and a good ground, you would be ok. Might think about doing the ground upgrade though.

1200 watts is a lot of power into a sub, even for a CC. I doubt you'd actually pull the full 1200 watts. You'd be deaf in short order!

As for improving the sound with new speakers, if you just mean louder, then a LOC will be fine. If you actually want good sound, and louder, you'll need an EQ. The factory HU will color the sound in many unpleasant ways that will be magnified with better speakers.

if you have the factory sub under the seat you can tie into that with a line out PCI-35 remove the FSub and run a amp kit and amp under the seat and run the Kicker off that it will make a big change
