What does this mean and how does it benefit?

OK, really an exhaust dump usually means the exhaust does not go through a muffler. Also sometimes called straight pipes.

Some of the guys seem to call their exhaust as being dumped, but what they are doing is still running through a muffler and using turn downs immediately after the muffler.

dumping (turndown pipe after the muffler) makes your exhaust louder. strictly for sound.

cons: depending on your muffler, it may drone alittle-alot more.

i prefer it dumped. i got a dynomax bullet with very little drone.

Dumping the exhaust will be louder because the sound from the exhaust is bouncing off of the ground and is also better forbperformance since there is less piping after the muffler. IMO dumping ftw!

Pros-Louder, better performing and it looks clean to see no pipes

Cons-None IMO

Thanks for the info. Even the comedians. I figured I would get a few comments using that title. Anyway I have quite a bit of drone in the cab at low RPM. Should I remove all but 2ft the the tail pipe? I will be doing a lot of driving in the snow, will this be a problem? I really appreciate all the reply's I have gotten from this web site with the few questions I have had.

My drone was worse with tailpipes. I read somewhere that somebody was playing with the tail length and came up with 12"-18" being the best. Mine are 15". Just cut it about 15" after the muffler and if you like it go get a dump pipe from autozone and weld her up.
