ok.... so after spending six months fighting with my warranty company trying to get them to replace the engine in my 04 with a bad rod bearing and piston rings, they shut me down and i dont want to spend more on lawyers than the motor is worth, so i need to find a used 5.6 ideally somewhere in the midwest. if anyone has one or any leads on one it would be greatly appreciated

i would prefer to find a motor and fix the truck since i still owe quite a bit of money on it, about the lowest i can go is 11k i am in central iowa, and the truck is an 04 cc LE with every option except nav including big tow, rear entertainment and the off road packages. truck has approx 103k miles on it, and has all brand new u joints, rear driveshaft, trans cooler lines, and the tires are about 50%. email at gavingardnermarlow@gmail.com for any more detailed questions and i will be able to respond much more quickly

There are 2 used motors for sale on craigslist here in Dallas. They are only $1000 and I'm sure they could ship. If I knew how to post a link from my cell I would.

thanks for the link, i know 11k is a ton of money for what ive got, thats why i didnt really want to post a for sale thread with my wtb to begin with, im just into it too much to get rid of it for any less than that and kinda screwed either way. i cant remember off hand what the warranty comapany is, its one i got through the nissan dealer i bought the truck from though. the issue is that i have a powertrain warranty and the company is maintaining that all the damage was caused from a clogged catalytic converter, which is not covered. the whole situation has completely turned me off of warranty companies, and basically nissan in general.

That really sucks man. Good luck with everything. That's why I don't buy any warranties. Always some fine print crap. They wouldn't make so much money if they actually did everything they say.

Did you ever get a quote on fixing your motor? Just curious I just recently replaced the motor in my titan and I have the old motor still sitting at the shop that put my used motor in. The only thing is I brought my titan for cheap from a dealer in Virginia and the carfax wasn't up to date on the truck and needless to say whoever owned before me didn't take care of the motor at all. It looks like they never changed the oil and it's all gunked up. I'm only asking cause it may be cheaper to fix my motor than yours and I'm willing to let it go for a deal.

Not trying to hijack your thread but if you get a used motor they usually come with the wiring harness attached. I would be interested in buying the engine harness and oil sending unit, water temp sending unit, cam position sending unit, and crank position sending unit. Or if anyone else wants to get rid of thiers. Year does not matter, but what does matter is not geyying a harness that has been hacked up! Just trying to help you make some money back.
