Well you do have a choice. To get higher sound levels and better sound quality just go to www.adireaudio.com and check out their Car Audio section. Pick up a Brahma in a 10, 12, or 15 inches. If you compare the 10w7 with a Brahma 10" you will see that the Brahma has much greater xmax - the distance the cone will travel (simplified: the great the distance the cone moves, the more air movement, hence the louder it will go). Additionally the Brahma utilizes a smaller box, and can actually play lower. The best part is, is that it is much cheaper than a JL. Pair a Brahma with a "Sub Zero" box (designed for these speakers) and you would have one kick azz sub with better performance, sound quality, for less money. Truly a bargain when considering no holds barred subs.WazzuCoug said:If my math is correct at $200 an increase we are talking $800-900, and $1000-1100, respecively, assuming you get a deal for the larger woofers. I have a 1000W rms amp, but I could see how a 10w7 sounds just about right from the wallets perspective!
