Just wondering how many of you all have had to replace your windshield? Mine is cracked, and the installer says the factory replacement is difficult to obtain.....they tell me it is backordered? Anyone else have a similar experience? I have been waiting a 2-3 weeks.

I think nearly all Titan parts are backordered...lol. They seem to need all parts they have for manufacturing. It's not just you either.

Mine cracked at the upper passenger side corner. Had it replaced at the dealer under warranty. It was a stress crack.

I have been looking around this forum for a few weeks and decided to sign up today because of this subject. A week after having my truck my winsheild cracked from the bottom strait up the middle, there is no stars to indicate something hit it. What did you have to say to have your winshields replaced under warranty?

My wind shield also cracked after a week old, but I actually saw and heard the rock that hit it, I was going about 70mph...

Are our wind shlieds weaker than normal?

PS. I have the wind shield tinted 0% its a clear tint that protects from UV, its like having cristal clear polarized sunglasses... I love the tint job, in fact it might have helped with the rock that hit me...

Just say it broke and nothing hit it. On mine it was obvious that only the inside layer of glass cracked. The outside did not. It is hard to crack a windshield with a rock and not break the outside layer too.

A rock hit mine a month after I got it and it only took the shop three days to get the new one in. They said it was a "premium" part from Nissan so they couldn't really help out with the deductible. They said they have not made aftermarket windsheilds for our trucks yet? Rock chips/cracks suck, I'm so paranoid with my new one now.

Mine cracked two weeks after I got the truck. Dealer said that it was not covered because a rock apparently hit it. I could not see any place that a rock hit the glass. Was on my way home from the dealer and this time a rock did hit it. So I had no choice at that point to replace. Cost me $220.00 installed.

The same thing happened to me this afternoon. My truck has 7200K miles on it. I parked inside a ramp this morning and after work while driving down the street I hear a loud crack. I didn't think too much of it. Then after 10 minutes or so, I notice that my windshield is crack. It's cracked from the bottom up, the line hasn't traveled too far up yet, it's about a 6-7 inch crack.

I know for sure nothing hit it, no stone, rock or whatever because I was driving below 30mph and there was nothing in front of me. I suspect the change in weather probably caused the crack because I have always parked outside in the cold winter temperature but this morning I parked inside a heated ramp. It was after leaving the ramp going outside to the -8 degree weather when I heard that crack.

I just couldn't help it. WTF?

Bought mine in July, got my first crack in October after a rock hit it on the lower passenger side. The crack was L shaped, about 6" by 12". Had it replaced at the dealer (insurance covered the $400 cost, minus a $100 glass deductible) and was very happy, until a couple of weeks later -- when I got a ding from a rock, right in the center of the windshield. Just this last weekend, I got another one ding from another rock.. upper middle of the passenger side. Haven't gotten both fixed yet but will...

So, that's three incidents in three months. Do these windshileds just suck? Do I have any recourse?

I drove my Sierra for 5 years with all sorts of things hitting it and never had so much as a ding in the windshield.. no way this is just bad luck... I love this truck but the windshield is quite irritating..

My co-worker and I have the exact same truck, '04 CC LE.
He called the other day and said he was just sitting in a parking lot talking and he heard something and his windshield cracked on the passenger side about 4 inches up.
I didnt have any such problems until about 2 weeks later.
The passenger side from the outside top 1/2 way across about 4" down. I was going to wait unitl summer afer all of the gravel subsides. Last night before leaving work I started my truck, by the time I got out there, there was another crack that started right in front of the driver and goes along the bottom of the windshield almost all the way across.
I am going to speak to my dealer, something seems fishy!

Something's not right here

My 2004 Titan windshield cracked on the lower right hand side about 3 weeks after I bought her. Not a single Nissan dealership in Houston had a windshield in stock. My salesman at Sterling-Mccall said that he would try to find one for me. The next day he called and said that he'd had no luck and that they actually had two Armadas and a Titan in the back lot that they weren't able to display because because of cracked windshields. He then told me to start calling some of the larger glass shops in Houston, because a lot of times they just called them out to go and replace the windshields anyway. I finally found a company that said that they could have one in about a week or less. Six days later, they call and said that it was in and they could send an installer over to my workplace and put it in. A little later, the installer shows up and takes my keys to work on the truck. In about 5 minutes he comes back inside and lets me know that he can't do the install because he doesn't have the new molding with him. A little perturbed, I call the glass company and they tell me that they will call me back. The guy leaves and about an hour later, the glass company owner calls and apologizes for the oversight and then proceeds to tell me that the moldings are on back order from the Nissan factory. He called several sources and it looked like it would be around 8 weeks or so.
Sure enough, about 9 weeks later, the glass company calls and says that they have the windshield and molding. I reconfirm with State Farm and shazam, I've got a brand new windshield on my brand new truck!
Exactly 8 days later, while going to work at 5 a.m. - PING. Yessir, another crack appears in almost the same exact place in the lower right edge below the wiper and coming up about 4 inches and then goin to the left about another 12 inches or so. D-a-mmit! Soooo, I call State Farm and file my claim and pay another $100 deductible, and call the same glass company who comes and does the install - the next day. We're all starting to get better at this now.
Believe this or not, but 2 days later - I said TWO DAYS later... Ping! I have another small crack in the same place, but only about three inches long. A sailor would have been embarrased or at least amazed at the cussing that spewed forth! I was actually embarrassed and did not tell anyone at work or even my wife because I had been really bragging on this badass truck since I got it. By lunch time the crack had grown to around 9 inches. I did not call State Farm but instead elected to have it "repaired" on the side of the road for $29.95.
About two weeks ago, go ahead and say it - PING. Another crack pops up - this time on the drivers side, while me and my buddy were going to lunch. By the time we get to the restaurant, it had grown to the middle of the windshield. I've now got a windshield with one repaired crack on the right side and another crack on the left side - both cracks come up and then run towards the middle.
I'm waiting until I've had my Titan for a year in February before I file another claim. This $100 deductible is starting to get kind of expensive.
What gives here? Am I just one unlucky SOB when it comes to windshields or what? I've had several people tell me to file a complaint with Nissan. My brother and a friend of ours bought their Titan the same time as myself and so far neither has had any windhield breakage.
The only other problem I've had was the driver's side window getting stuck in the down position and the only way to get it back up was to turn off the ignition and then turn it back on again. I'll be taking it to the dealer next week for this and the seatbelt recall.
Can't say that I'm looking for pity or advice, just maybe your take on this and maybe even a similar occurrence so that I can justify filing a complaint with Nissan. Sorry for the long post.

I'm confused, why isn't this being covered by the factory warranty? If it isn't caused by a rock, or by you, then I think it would be covered.
