when i go to put the window up i have to manually hold it or or when it let the auto do it it will do up all the way then come back down about a quarter of the way down...help please

Not sure if it will help, but I once had a similar problem on one of my other vehicles. The fix was to put it all the way down and pull the fuse. It reset the part of the computer controlling the windows.

FYI, There is a TSB out on the window motor and it is a pretty common problem among us Titan owners. I replaced the switch first which fixed the intermitent auto up problem, but then soon after the motor didn't want to push the window. After replacing the motor, all was good. Courtesy parts.com will have the part (not for cheap tho!) Hope this helps

i believe there is a reset procedure in the owners manual for the auto up and down to set the limits

What if it will always auto down but only some times auto up... It will either auto up or it won't and I have to hold it but once it goes all the way up it does stay there... :ftard:

Mine has done that a few times, but only in the morning. Kinda crazy. By clock out time, It works just fine.

I just now started having auto up issues on my driver window this past Saturday. Next day it was the passenger window.
Too coincidental to be the motors-- switch?
When the passenger window wasn't working I forgot to try the passenger switch...
Later both were working fine....

Had same prob, luckily under warranty, dealer had to replace switch

My titan Just did this today and i called the dealer being that it's less than a month old...they said you can RESET the switch by HOLDING it in the automatic up position until it hits the TOP of the window and then continue to hold it for 20 seconds. then let got...they said this will reset the switch...they also said that it MIGHT have to be done a couple times...
My wife did it and it worked the first time.
does this sound familiar to anyone or is the dealer feeding me a line that is a temporary fix and eventually i'll have to replace the switch?
---also i noticed that the back drivers side passenger window rattles like glass hitting metal when it's half way down, and if it's half way down and i open and then close the door, it makes a loud glass hitting metal sound...my other door doesn't do this.... any ideas?

well Day Two has come and I'm still having window problems...Planning on taking it into the dealer...i have a felling the mechanic just wants to avoid putting in a new switch.
