I'm trying to narrow down if a noise/feel in my truck is the tranny mount or not, I know plenty have had the issue, so can we get some description of the symptoms experienced. I am pretty sure mine is gone, but I just want to compare. Thanks.

Mine ha a slight thump, and at times felt like the tranny was slipping... Also made hard launches feel like the truck was going to explode from the violent shaking

Could anyone specify weather or not this is the transmission mount?

When applying heavy braking there is a delayed thud when the truck makes a complete stop, as if something is falling back into place once the momentum of the truck has stopped. Almost as if the tranny is slapping back down onto the sub frame.

Believe it or not, that's rear axle wrap IMO.

After much thought to the slipping and the thud, I'm pretty sure mine is shot. I'm going to order a new one from rock auto, I think it's like 65, I already have traction bars in the garage that I just need to install now, so I feel as though that combo will make all well for the rearend.

Why don't you get under there and look to see if it is shot before ordering the part? It is really easy to tell, especially if you jack up the tranny a bit. Also, if your truck isn't shaking on heavy acceleration with a noticable thud on the floor, and if it's not vibrating at idle (you can see in the side view mirror if it vibrates), then I wouldn't be convinced it is the tranny mount. Anyway...Here's what mine looked like when it was torn: Note the tear in the rubber portion of the mount.

Thanks for the hi res photo man, im gonna get under there this afternoon just to elimnate the possibility, i breifly looked around last evening but it was a bit to dark, however i was able to see my carrier bearing and the rubber looks to be chewed to **** where the driveshaft goes through it.. im curious if that could be part of the issue as well..

I've got some inspecting to do tonight as well, I know it's slowly getting worse, that's why I feel as though this is the cause. I guess we'll see.

Well, after rolling around under there, mine is indeed bad. And I also discovered...my front diff, drivers side seal is leaking...pretty badly too...crappy.

What is the secret to those crossmember bolts? I could only undo one of four today...

I need help. Can someone text me? My number is 972-623-8911.

My T has been:
Jerking
Lurching
Popping.

Checked tranny mount and it's
Cracked all the way through. Checked rear diff fluid level ad it hasn't lost a drop since last fluid refill. I'm so scared for my baby I need help!!

Sounds like you need a new mount stat! I'm selling my brand new mount for 60 shipped if your interested... They cost about 100 from a dealer, and about 80 from rockauto.

Picking up the mount today and swapping it out. Do you think that will help the problem? Or am I in deeper water then I think I am?

Changed it out today. Went and got a new higher torque impact today, worked like a champ! Job is complete and only took an hour and a half! So...funny story. There I am, laying under the truck with the front end on jack stands and a jack underneath, impact out, sockets, box wrench, liquid wrench, hammer, and two pry bars. Some older guy comes walking by, looks at me and says "so, you working on your truck?" my response "nope" "I just like laying under here randomly prying on things to see what they do." it may have been mean, but I was getting pretty pissed at that crossmember!
