Thanks for the comments even the useless ones. I drive the truck pretty tame staying off the gas pedal as much as possible. I knew it was a gas guzzler when I bought it but figured I'd see if anything could actually help the mpg. It just turned 1k and can only help it gets better.

I just put a BDGT, Airaid MXP (thx TAP) and a JBA catback exhaust (thx Autoanything) and I'm now getting 3 mpg better averaged. Haven't taken a trip on the highway to compare yet

I have the BDGT, AND Airaid MXP installed, and the JBA catback is on the way. How does this setup work for you. How does your truck sound and run?

Enloy your new Titan Bro. Everybody on this forum probably would like to get better gas mpg,and have tried to do so one way or another. Bottom line is this is a thristy truck and no matter what you do you won't get a significant gain in mpg no matter what you do. The Mods can net you a little, like a BDGT, CAI, ome kind of evhaust mod, and there are lots of those. You might get 1-3 mpg better if you can keep your foot off the gas otherwise these mods are so fun you can't help but tryimg it out ALL THE TIME and then of course you mpg go down.

Were not laughing at you, It's just we've heard it hundreds of times. Were all in the same boat. Enjoy the fact that you have a V8 powered truck, cuz nothing sounds or feels better than a healthy V8 powerplant.

Whats that saying? I cudda had a V8 :redblob" Oh yeah I forgot choose your round trips that allow you to go down hill both way's :redblob" couldn't help myself. :)

I just bought my 2012 Titan a couple ofvweeks ago. I was aware of yhe crummy mileage, but I really liked the truck. I traded in a 2010 f250 with the 5.4, so my mileage actually increased by buying the Titan....ha

Plus, the Titan does not ride like a buckboard, and the pathetic power of the 5.4 is greatly surpassed by the 5.6 Titan motor.

I like the comfort, the styling, the handling and the pleasing ride of the Titan, and the poor mpg is totally acceptable for this pretty heavy truck. The f250 would gear down going up a hill and still drop speed, wher the Titan on the same roads just keeps on truckin'

I knew it wasn't great on gas when I bought it and I do like the truck. I traded in a 98 Silverado with 189k on it I thought I would get better mpg with this one and was wrong more power but same mpg. Just figured if there were options to get better mpg I would explore them. All flat plain where I'm at so hills are out of story.

Ha Ha, Yeah I hear ya. :) All The mods I have could save you some mpg, but it's hard to drive in a way with these mods to get it. It's just to fun to hear that engine Growl. When I step on the gas people will look.

Okay, so here's a serious MPG/mod question, and maybe I'd be better off starting a new MPG thread, but....erm, maybe not. :hellno:

So anyway, I plan on leveling my T but I'm going to go about it opposite most folks do by lowering the rear rather than raising the front. Seems I have knee and back problems that would not agree with raising the truck more than stock.

So, it seems logical that if lifted trucks get crappier mileage then lowering the rear may actually help mileage. Does anyone have any personal experience or data which suggests this might actually be true?

FWIW, I have the MXP, BDGT, Cajun SS catless B's, tonneau cover, and have installed the Armada air dam and honestly I have not really found much more in the way of fuel savings, 1 or 2 at best.

Not true, leveling the truck by either lifting the front or lowering the rear, changes the aerodynamics of the truck, there is a good chance your MPG's wil be affected negatively.

Slow speeds, not much, highway speeds, 70 to 80 mph wind hitting the truck and a different angle, much more significantly, imagine a stock car with the front airdam 1.5" higher.

Lowering the rear won't help mileage....at least not anything you'd be able to notice mpg wise. It just changes the angle/rake of the truck.

It looks like you did everything possible to help mileage with your mods. You might want to look into sealing up the frontend with rubber weather stripping where the hood and front grill meet. There's a big gap there. Also, between the top of the front bumper and bottom of the grill is another huge gap area for wind turbulence to get into.

1 or 2 MPG would be about 6-12% if your baseline was about 16 MPG. That's nothing to sneeze at, but it also will take a hell of a long time for the mods to pay for themselves (despite what you told your wife!).

I'm getting a tuner this weekend and going to drive the T from Green Bay to Ft. Myers, FL in about a month. If I notice anything interesting I'll post about it. Otherwise performance-wise I'm stock just cut the tube out of the stock intake.

Ha! And that's why I'm not married anymore! Well, that and other reasons, like the b!tch cheating on me...

I'm not going to go all out on mileage mods. Performance mods, sure. Level the truck, sure. Additional weatherstripping, no. I have another car that gets better mileage if I'm concerned with all that.

But, since I am going to level by lowering the rear anyway, I thought I'd ask. Besides, I thought it might generate some interesting discussion.
