I have an 04 my oil pressure sits around 550 at idle, and the oil pressure a touch less then then 1/4 when she is all warmed up. Cruising she sits a touch over 1/2. Best way would be to pit a manual Guage. 400rpm is low. Is there a load on the engine somewhere? Tranny ok? Tach ok? That's odd. I would tach the engine externally just to double check the cluster. I had a guy bring me a truck swearing it was running hot, after his mechanic rehabbed the whole coolant system... Hee hee.. You turn off the truck and the Guage settled a quarter, Guage was pooched. Although as previously said I can see a vibration at low idle. Is the butterfly dirty? Just a thought.

Uprev isn't cheap. $600 or something like that. I've had mine a while and I don't remember what I paid. The handheld tuners are maybe half that. There are often used ones for sale in the buy/sell subforum.

It could very well turn out to be less expensive in the short run to take it to the dealer and have them adjust the idle speed.

True the stealer "SHOULD" know there truck. But for the s**t and giggle of it, I'll see if their is a spec in alldata for the idle rpm. As far as checking oil pressure, pop out the oil sending unit it and fit in a Guage, Google it and click images should find one showing you where it's located) if you know where it is, a fuel pressure Guage should work. They're cheap enough. As far as external taching either a photo tachometer or a digital lead in a multimeter with rpm function on wire off one of the plugs. Was it always like this or did the vibration low idle and oil pressure fluctuations come on at the same time? Any tics or knocks from the engine?

im taking it to nissan to have them look at it on tuesday the guy wants 80 bucks just to stand in front of the damn thing...wish i could make 80 bucks for just looking at a truck i'd be rich...but anyway if something should come up i will let you know he says my truck is in the perfect idle area as far as rpms but he thinks my oil pump might be on its way out but reading through some other threads one guy had a similar issue turned out his motor was s!@#$ so lets hope its the oil pump or something so simple its stupid

I watched your video again, what's funny is my T same oil pressure at cruising. At idle warm my Guage sits below the first line and has a slight vibration that I chalked up to mounts and knowing I have some worn lifters and maybe cam. (110k miles) Not to mention s@*t oil. I'm wondering if your sending unit is shi**in out on ya. I have an 04 Le. I have to ask, where the blue odometer came from? My dash is orange.

so i did an oil change, changed the front and rear diff fluid, taking it to nissan on friday for a complete tranny fluid exchange.. if that doesnt work than i have narrowed it down to either vacuum or spark plugs, the guy at nissan said that its highly unlikely that its anything to do with my oil pump or anything internal he said my rpms are fine and raising them would probably cause issues down the road.. so at this point im still at a loss and im completely frustrated because it does it only in the gears that make me move forward it doesnt do it in reverse or neutral or park

Being that it's only in drive and the idle is low, is it possible that it could be an issue with the torque converter? Maybe it's just not disengaging right and therefore making the engine rpms go down from fighting with the tc??? Just a random thought, it may be completely dumb but it sounds like a good idea when your half asleep...

I know this is a super old thread, but any resolution? My truck is doing the same exact thing! I'm the original owner, and its never had a tune.
