So hopefully I will be able to let yall know exactly what caused the clunk in a few days.
Gawd I hope so, I haven't slept in weeks..................

you know, i've been reading this thread for a few days now. the clunk you're talking about, i think i have. but mine, you can't hear it or can't really feel it until you look for it. it's not like a five gallon bucket of water hitting the tail gate everytime you acclerate or stop, mine is very slight, more like something catching, either the tranny or rearend. i took it to the dealer two times. first time they said "oh it's your limited slip catching" , i found out here that i don't have limited slip. so WTF? the second time, they said, it's your tranny catching, normal. so i told them, that's fine. if anything seriouse happens like the rearend going out or tranny, don't say i never brought it in, i have the paper work that i did. so now, i don't care. if something is going happen, they're gonig to fix it! if not, lemon law baby. i know it's annoying and i know you paid alot of money for it and it's a brand new truck. do you have warranty on the truck? if you do, take it back when some does break. if my truck did the same exact thing as yours and they coudln't fix it. i'd wait till something broke. if something did break, they're not fixing, i'm getting a new truck. taken it 5times to repair, didn't repair now broke. lemon law, new truck.

BTW, any idea on what could be causing mine? when i stop seems like something is sitting back in it's place. when accelerating, have this catching/jolt feel. very slight though.

before you spend any more time at the dealership you should try the helper spring fix. Or, do what i did, skip the helper spring and just put one u-bolt on each leaf spring forward of the axle and tighten it down good & tight to stiffen up the leaf springs. The U-bolts can be found at any AutoZone or NAPA or Pep Boys shop for less than ten dollars. That's gotta' be less than the co-pay on all the blood pressure medicine you're needing from all that time at the dealership and on the phone with 1-800-Nissan-B!tch.
Also, if the install is too tough for you look up your local Girl Scout or Brownie troop and ask them to do it for you to earn a wrench badge or something. I'll bet they could handle the task.

If I do such a mod and my rearend goes out or something wrong with my shocks or suspension. I'm sure Nissan would blame the mod and refues to pay for repair and parts. I think I'll wait to see what the dealer will do when it goes in in the morning, agian.

I had a clunk in my rear suspension and they replaced the leaf springs and shackles. I could make the clunk for the dealer by pushing the rear tires side to side in a rocking motion. The problem must have been in the bushings for the leaf springs.

does it do it after the truck is warmed up? or does it do it while the truck is still cold? mine seems to do it after the truck gets warmed up alittle. atleast i don't feel it when i start driving it. just thought i'd ask, might narrow it down alittle.

Takes about 10 or more mintues of driving with stops before the clunk begins. We went to the dealer this morning and they turned us away until the head service manager returned from vacation. (which is monday) I noticed if the truck is in park and you get out and move the tires with your hands you can feel like a grinding through the tires.

that grinding you feel when moving the rear tires back and forth is completely normal. mine does it, my pathfinder does it, i know this because when i did it to my pathfinder a while ago, i thought something was wrong w/ it. it's the gears in the diff moving. perfectly normal. try it on other rigs. you'll see.

when you take it in to the dealer tell them when it starts doing it. have you test driven another titan w/ the mechanic?

The Truck has been in the shop since Monday. I called today and they said they needed an extra day because they are ordering a new diff for the truck. Hopefully it won't have the older oil in the diff, but the new syn one. Also hoping it comes with the new 05' diff cover. Can't wait to try my new brakes in the front too!

Turns out they only put in a new driveshaft and clunk be gone!! Not a clunk since. They said they also put on the new brakes. The pedal is mushy when u first press it but then it gets firmer so when u press the brake a little u won't be braking really hard. The rotor still gets really hot tho, it burned me!

Good to hear! I'm glad you're starting to experience that customer satisfaction that most of us have felt since day one.

It took a little fighting tho, they tryed to send me on my way and say it was normal. I said hell no, it is not normal! They said they had to guess what to replace & didn't know what was wrong but they put in a new shaft and it was fixed. They were just gonna keep replacing parts til it was fixed.
