Wow, they showed on the news tonight that Exxon made 100billion in profits this last year. Imagine that? We were paying over $319 a gallon and Exxon made billions. I just can't figure that out :boxing: :boxing: :boxing: :futwice: :futwice: :futwice:

ye...oh well unless we would work together and stop puttin gas for a while so they can feel it...nothings ever gonna happen...but then again well never stop putting gas for even a while so oh well, we'll just have to continue paying...I mean I thinks its bull but I dont care too much oh well...keep truckin

Bush is an oil man, and they're making the best of it before he leaves office.

Good for Exxon.... just Capitalism at work. This will only make people/companys look for a better alternative to gas that much quicker.

Do you think they can't raise gas prices under a "none oil man President?" Ever hear of the President Jimmy Carter ?

Oh boy, MORE kool-aid anyone! Just like we took Iraq for oil to. If we did that why isnt our oil at 22 Cents a gal. like it is there? Bravo for exxon. I wish I had a business making that much profit! Capitalism at its best. I guess we should take away Bill gates fortune to huh?

Really cheap land leased from my govt!, subsidies from my govt, tax brakes from my govt, and probably billions in defense dollors and thousands of lives to provide a simi secure environment around the world for them to operate. All of these factors make their profits our buisnes, just consider your self a unofficial stock holder. They do have an obligation not to screw the American tax payer! I think the current administration don't see it this way, I wonder why?. Besides GB/DC are'nt going to be in the white house forever.

Why must everybody blame Bush? Christ, people have even found a way to blame a hurricane on GW. GW should just call himself free scapegoat for whinners! The oil is high because of China and India period. Blame them.

I guess we should blame Bush for the housing market getting so high and building companies making record profits which means a house that was only 150K is now selling for 185K. All I hear is :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Not blaming, they just don't have any incentive to make things better for you and I. When they report back to Taxas after there tour of duty they won't we well received. There has'nt been a house in this neck of the woods for $185,000 since 1985! But , you have a good point, on the bright side, we have made allot of money in real estate! The not so bright side is now we have to spend it all on gas:(!

I'll leave that part up to myself, not the Government.

You'll be waiting for a very long time if you're waiting for a President of any party to make things better for you.
I second that!.....To many people are waiting for the gov. to give handouts. That is the difference between a socialist and a capitalist Government. Keep in mind we are a Capitalist socity. That is how things run around here. Get out and provide for yourself and dont wait for the Gov. to do it for you. I bet if anyone of us were a Exxon CEO we to would be rubbing our hands. So dont fool yourself!

The issue is not so much the supply of oil, it's the ability to refine it into gasoline that's causing the supply problem. I read that the US hasn't built any new refineries since the 70s, yet demand has increase 3-fold! Problem is, no one wants one of these things built in their back yard and the government makes it damn near impossible to build one because of all the needed permits and paperwork.

Blaming the president is pretty damn ignorant. When it comes to global supply and demand, 1 man doesn't have much influence. Look at the price of steel for God sakes! China is buying up most and driving the prices through the roof on even 2nd-hand steel.

Hummm go figure. China? Buying all the steel? Oil? manufactored products? Noooooooo Chinas not building up for anything!!!! Dont worry about CHina everythngs just peachy keen over there! Besides they wouldnt attack a friendly nation like the US now would they?

We have been at war before.
There have been hurricanes in the gulf before this current hurricane season.
WHY, Now are they choosing to FU*K us so bad on the gas prices. People that don't think the federal government are in bed with the oil companies need to open up their eyes. Those people are along the same intelligence level as those who "vote Republican cos my Daddy voted Republican. Why don't you all go buy a Ford cos your Daddy bought a Ford.

That's what we need to be doing ourselves. But we have too many tree huggers and bambi lovers that always get their ways. Don't get me wrong, I love nature and animals too, but we were given domain over them. I'm sorry, but I am not going to let a rabbit have a better home than me. If you want to do something about the high gas prices, go out and ride a bike, vote, get involved with alternative fuels, just do something! Are the gas companies gouging us, HE"LL YES THEY ARE! Some people have more morals than others, but we all want to make a dollar. I ain't sticking up for EXXON, I want to puch that CEO in the face too, but, aren't we just shooing ourselves in the foot by feeding all of their greed??? (Just my two cents worth)

The Federal Gov. makes more profit off a gallon of gas than Exxon does....and they did nothing to earn it!!! Did you know that,or do you always spout off drivel???

So, are you an incessant whining liberal cos your daddy was one? :crying:

Exxon has had record profits MANY years, and 1997 was one of them.WHO was President then? Still, I have enough knowledge to know that your beloved Billy didn't have anything to do with it.

How many of the oil companies made a 90% jump in revenue from the year before during previous presidencies? and what does: "do you always spout off drivel" mean.
And I'm guessing by your reply your daddy voted republican and drives a ford. :teethmast
