I have what looks like some sort of wet substance on my engine cover. after short low speed drives it doesn't seem to be there, but after driving on the highway I see the liquid on the cover.

Checked oil and it was good (just got it change a week ago as well)
Also makes a ticking sound that most people on this forum say is normal for a Titan. easier to hear at idle and does not get worse with driving.

I have till April 6th then my 30 day warranty is up from the used car dealer. I want to know if this wetness on the engine cover warrants a trip to a mechanic. here's a pic. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok so im assuming that is the normal sound of the fuel injectors and nothing to worry about. This radiator cap leak, what would i do to fix it? just buy a new radiator cap? or is it more than that? Thanks for the quick response

Yes the fuel injector sound is normal. For the cap yes you need a new one. Make sure to wipe off all the deposits around the neck before you install the new cap. I would take a good look at the rad its self and make sure you don't have a crack....that seams to be a lot of fluid.

The 2 little metal locking tabs on your rad cap needs to be crimped tighter, so it doesn't jizz all over your engine bay!

My injectors make a racket! It's normal. :)

Yea mine done that like four months after I bought it, got a brand new one from nissan no problems sense.

Yeah I say it is the cap. Try the adjusting of the metal tabs mentioned above or just change it out. Make sure to get the correct one, the rad cap doesnt have a spring in it like some replacements.

First time I heard the injectors ticking it was so loud, I thought I had an engine knock...Scared the hell outta me but turns out it's normal, :dunno: go figure!!!

As for the leaky radiator cap, I crimped the two tabs a little tighter and voila... problem solved.

I sure hope so, I just crimped the two tabs a little while ago. Im gonna get on the highway and open her up and see if the coolant sprays my engine cover again.

after spending some time on this forum I am paranoid that my radiator and manifolds are cracked. The truck is awesome, but I wish I checked out the forum before I bought it. Not sure I am ready to buy a new radiator, headers, cats, and uprev! stressed.

If you buy a new radiator cap be sure it matches the old one. Do not get a spring loaded one.

Definitely a coolant Leak. Mine did this but it was leaking from the radiator cap. I replaced the cap and it's been good since!
