Did I get that right, TitanFan59?

like I said though I took it to the dealer and "there was nothing wrong with it" according to them...

Exactly, somewhere in the purple haze that post erupted.:smoke:

Gotta "chirp" in here. Why would you want to "roast" "spin" "burnout" your tires? It cost me almost $1,000 to replace my tires. I like to go fast, but smokin off the line is expensive. Just my .02

I dont really want to roast the tires but after reading the post on here I kinda feel cheated out of some power since mine does not spin the tires and other Titans do and seam to do it well . I have driven two other Titans and have a friend who has a 05 SE CC and his will spin easily. I did the ecu reset and it still will not spin. I even run 93 oct. fuel. I dont know maybe it will get better with more miles

Consider another dealer and get the tech to ride with you so you can show him the power cut even with VDC off. When VDC kicks in the engine chokes down.

I think, but am not sure, that there is also another computer function which could cut power independent of VDC. If you have your foot on the brake, you cannot accelerate the engine while in gear. That's a safety feature to prevent the drive by wire throttle from malfunctioning by going to full throttle by accident. Pressing on the brakes will kill the throttle.

This is one of the reasons you really can't get any performance gain on the strip by powerbraking when you launch.

It could be that this system is misbehaving. But I don't know much about that system. Just speculation, but something to consider.

If you are convinced that that power is being cut electronically, try another dealer and stay on them until they get it sorted out.

I was never able to "roast" my tires. I get a chirp, but that's about it. It's dissappointing to me because I had a Ranger 4x4 (4.0L 4:10 gears stock) before the Titan and I could "ROAST" the tires with ease on that truck. And I had 33's on it (came with 30's!!). Oh well.

That was a nice lookin ranger

I had to stomp on mine the other day to get into traffic. I laid down about 4 feet of rubber, which surprised me considering the weight of my wheels and tires I now have. I need to watch it though since the price of these tires aint cheap:teethmast

Today I pulled out in front of someone and I didnt really relize how fast he was going till I had already commited to the turn. I punched it and I broke sideways and almost lost it. I was really suprised!! I must have got in water somewhere because it has never done that, and where did the pozzy traction come from?? What happend to the peg leg theory??

I have to think twice about doing something like that my engine will cut off so much that I lose a lot of power and have to wait till it lets the gas get back...its been scary once or twice when trying to do something like that and then OH SH!T HURRY UP DAMN THING...even with the vdc off...thats why Im pretty sure something has to be wrong...

I've left similar burn outs a couple times. I think it has to do with the angle of the road your on and the environmental conditions.

If you have the big tow with the limited slip it will not spin very much because it is not meant to spin. If you are racing you don't want to spin, you want to lock up and go. I have noticed that the truck is always going faster then the truck feels.
