What up guys.. my truck is just coming around 1300 miles and it still hasn't gotten the pickup im looking for. I installed AEM brute force CAI, and air-raid TBS, also ordered flowmaster exhaust.. But damn I was even with a saturn last night :(.. When do these trucks actually start getting there balls? 06 KC

My truck has not changed since I bought it. If I floor it from a dead stop it will smoke the tire, if I floor it below about 15, or 20 it will break traction for a few seconds.

Hmmm... I will get a little chirp but nothing amazing.. I raced an 03 Civic SI and he was 1/2 a car ahead (stock) and me with AEM CAI and air-raid TBS. Sound Normal?

I run 87 most of the time, every now and then I will put supreme but most of the time I just run regular.

Civic SI, you think you could beat? Do you think its just a matter of breaking in, I only got 1346 miles.

dude, it is a truck, not really a sports car

just a suggestion...me among a lot of others have noticed a great increase in power when using the higher octance fuel...
My butt o meter is not very sensitive, I usually don't notice any gains shy of a supercharger or nitrous. I know that premium will pick up a few hp, but nothing I notice.

I dont think its anything to breaking in...I waited (or tried waiting for the 500 miles at least) and well it was pretty much broken in after that...the only thing with mine that I noticed differently by "breaking in" was the better milage...but no dif. in power or anything like that

Maybe your expectations were to high to begin with. A 1/2 ton pickup is not a ricer. Once you got that figured out, you shouldn't be so dissapointed with it.:bang:

Yea, I know its not a ricer.. I have very high expectations, as I have my previous car was a Dodge SRT-4 with 450WHP and over 500 LB TQ was an insane street car. But putting 2 and 2 together, a civic SI runs 16's all day, and he beat me by 1/2 a car and I have AEM brute force, air-raid TBS. I should be able to beat him..

well for one thing u keep mentioning the TBS but noone has gotten any gains from this so really all u got is the intake :) but I dunno...do ur tires have anything to do with ur speed? I know my tires would not get me ANY traction and the truck seemed slower than it was (still fast than a civic though :))...I did notice a big difference after changing out the stockers though BUT still lose a lot of traction

I notice you dont' have your exhaust yet, and that's what could be hurting you.

Adding the intake creates more airflow coming in. But now, you must compensate for that by having more exhaust going out. They work together.
I had the same problem, but in reverse-I put on the exhaust first, (no intake) and my truck got slower. All the ECU resetting in the world didn't help, because I didn't have airflow coming in to make up for what was going out.

Get your exhaust on, reset your ECU, throttle position, and other things on Rocky's thread, and I'm sure you'll see an improvement.

The TBS really doesn't give much 'gains', maybe 3 or 4hp. Where it does help is the lower end where some have lost torque due to their aftermarket exhausts. I don't think having a TBS will hurt, but I really think he needs to get his exhaust on.

Exhaust will be here friday, will install and reset. Boom Hopefully were good :)

I mean nothing can be wrong, I got 1300 Miles.. SHEET

Don't forget you are hauling a 2.5 tons of weight compared to the si's 1.5 ish.
the Si has a better power to weight ratio. And by the way, your driving truck.:3eyes:

Nissans in general take THOUSANDS of miles to really run hard because of the extremely tight tolerences. Just because the rings seat within a few hundred miles and most of the moving parts wear-in doesnt mean that you are anywhere near making max stock power. The good thing is that your truck will run good for a very long time, not just really good for a few years then shiit out. My 04' ran harder at 31k miles than it did at any other time.

Im sure one of the resident muscle car guys can chime in with some differences in ring tension, piston/cylinder clearances ect. between race and commercial engines.
