Seek advice...F-150 4x2 rear ended me this week. No significant damage since I have a Titan Crew Cab LE Crew Cab 4x4 BIG TOW. This truck is built like a tank!

His older F-150 front end is a mess from hitting my tow hitch. Not much visible damage to my truck, the trailer light socket is bent and the plastic step up on the bumper is gouged. Repair site is free and recommends replacing the entire hitch, especially if tow toys (yes, a boat).

Hitch is solid steel and both it and frame look undamaged...worried OEM replacement will never be as solid as original. What would you do? I am worried if I ever get in accident towing boat, insurance company will later fault me for declining new hitch.

I would take the new hitch just to be on the safe side. There is nothing on a hitch that will be different if it is replaced with the same hitch. All it does is sit there and hold on to the frame.

I would agree on taking the new hitch. I tow a 22' Mastercraft X2 wakeboard boat with an aftermarket hitch. I went with the Invisible Hitch over the Factory because of price. When I campared them they appear identical in all aspects except the dealer wanted $500 to put on the Nissan hitch and my truck place hit me for $250 including electrical. I spent another $60 getting the Nissan relay so my lights would work.

I'd take the new hitch too. You never know what invisible damage there may be. And if you do tow, why risk it?

I purchased the Nissan OEM hitch from Jamie @ titanparts247.com, who is one of our sponsors. It was under $200, and came with the relays.

Easy enough to install if you have a piece of plywood and a floorjack, or you'll need help holding it up while bolting it on.

YOOO pager daddy,

is there a way to get an accurate email for jamie at titanparts247?

Thanks

For the moment while you're waiting for PagerDaddy to answer, try the "contact us" feature on their website and put "Attn. Jamie" in the subject line. Worth a try.
