Is the crack on the manifold something visually easy to see since I'm sitting on 8-9" of lift? Or is their a manifold cover in the way?

I would caution against buying headers off eBay, you might save a couple bucks up front but trust me you don't want to do this install twice.. I've dealt with way too many guys who bought their headers online and regretted it. Only Cajun stands behind their product 100%... Try getting an actual human being on the phone when your "bought off eBay but I swear they're authentic" JBA headers don't fit, or you have an issue with install.. Etc.

Stay away from shorties unless your in California. Welding is required and your not fixing the issue as the cat will still be in the same place. Cajun Stage 1 moves the cat under the truck where it should have been in the first place making it much more reliable. Those DNA headers may be cheaper but remember when you have a fitment issue you want to be able to talk to someone on the phone for help. Your not gonna get that with headers that come out of a shipping container direct from China. This job is way too labor intensive to rely on cheap un PROVEN parts. Cajun and JBA will back their product if a defect or flaw is found. There are hundreds of guys running JBA LT's so I say those are proven and still a lot cheaper than Stillen or Thorleys.

The cracks sound just like a exhaust leak which is what it is....Ticking sound. The cracks almost always happen on the inside closest to the engine almost impossible to visualize unless removed or video fiberoptic scope is used. Look between cylinders 3 and 4 under the split in the flange. Tuning should be done with any header install or the cats will prematurely fail unless stock cats are reused.

Well I do happen to be in California. So this is why I'm asking you guys. Are the shorties and stock cats really my only option?

Yes. And what an option they are.
Makes your truck way more fun.

Only California options are:
Magnaflow CARB manifolds
JBA shorty with stock cats cut off and welded to the shorty
Oem Nissan manifolds

Some have used the JBA shorty and a outfit called FMS performance to weld a Valina cat on the shorty and call it carb legal. Problem is I looked into it and the manufacturer of the cat says no way is that carb legal. Plus the cat can be purchased at FMS for $250 and its $89 on eBay. FMS wants around $1500 for the job.

I think welding the stock cats to the shorties is gonna be my only option. I've heard so many guys saying not to do that as the cats could fail and get sucked into the engine. Could this really happen? And is it likely?

I agree with you on that. I think I'll get the shorties and weld them on. Do you think the jba catback is a good match for this as well? I have and 08.
I had the jba catback on my 05 and loved it. What are your guys opinions?

The cats come apart from the engine side first. When you kill the engine valve overlap can cause a short but stout vacuum which pulls the cat particles into the rear 2 cylinders and will eventually cause the rings to fail. Happens all the time on these trucks with this poorly designed manifold. The bad thing about welding oem cats to shorties is the cats usually already have 100k miles on them are on the brink of failure anyway. The labor is what sucks BAD so if you can do longtubes you better go that route.

JBA catback is awesome but will be very tame with stock cats.

Ok guys here's another cracked manifold question. My T is 2wd non tow gears and has 117k and the mileage is starting to drop off. A little background. I have a maxtrac 4inch spindle lift with a 1.5 inch spacer with bills on the middle perch. Also have 35x12.50r20 Aturro mts. Hate them there impossible to balance. Anyway my milage used to hover around 12-12.5. Now it's at 10-10.5. Im pretty positive the drivers side is done.
I can't any information on these. They look legit and the price is so cheap I just can't pass it up. Anyone use these or have any feedback back for me would be great before I pull the trigger.

Good Day!

That is just another cheap Chinese knockoff of a JBA part and this has been going on for many years with companies like OBX on e-bay. They are cheap but you also have NO customer service after the sale or technical help if needed. When you are spending 8-12 hours labor you want to have parts that WILL have a warranty behind them. JBA has been in business building CARB approved and Long Tube headers for 30 years as of 2017.

I've ordered a pair of DNA long tube manifold headers from Ebay for $209. ... I have a local shop that will install them for $450..... so I will let you know how it all turns out for my 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab 4x4. 10.15.16.
(Sometimes I get tired of all the conjecture talk on these forum talks...people say.... "don't get this or don't do that"... when the person has NOT even tried the product and is just talking from his or her personal biases..... so hey...for about $650 bucks I'm going to be one of the only guys on this forum who will actually know for certain if these DNA STAINLESS PERFORMANCE HEADER EXHAUST MANIFOLDS are good or not.....at least you will know from someone who actually tried the product. ... so stay tuned....I'll give an honest reply as to their performance, sound and quality of material.)
