Who has a CB or HAM radio in their Titan?

These new trucks dont give you any good places to mount the CB inside. I miss the 70's and 80's trucks.

Lets see some pics of what you have.
Antennas too!!

My trucks first owner (I am the 2nd) was my fire chief. the antenna is still dead center on the roof, to give it its biggest "dish" so to speak. We live in a mountainous area, so it was needed. the radio itself was mounted near the right thigh/knee but in a way (hopefully this makes sense) that normal up was towards the drivers door, and normal front was up.

Was searching everywhere for a suitable mount and found this on Ebay, says it's for a Frontier but it looked like it might work on my '19 Titan so I rolled the dice and ordered it, bolts right up to an existing bolt and only took a minimum of tweaking to get it to fit right.

That spot looks pretty nice, do you have any pictures with the antenna on there?

Here is my setup. I put the antenna on the truck bed rail, it's held on by a piece of 1/8" steel screwed into the bed rail.
For the CB radio, I cut out a hole in the center dash and mounted it there.

Don't have the antenna yet, just got the mount installed today. Didn't want to order everything until I was sure it was going to work. I'll post pics after I'm done with the install. I can't mount on the bed as I have a ARE cap ordered, may be here mid November.....I hope.

man, you guys must really use the heck out of a cb to cut a hole in the dash to install it.

i have had them in vehicles but not the titan. last one was the frontier i had before the titan but it was just mounted using the rack that came with it and stuck the side of the console with the antenna on the bed rail, passenger side

I'm a ham and this isn't a CB I'm installing, and no, I won't be cutting up the interior of my SL. The 2 meter/70CM rig I'm installing has a removable control head, I will probably install the body of the radio under the drivers seat and velcro the control head somewhere on the console. Did a buddies XD diesel that way and it makes for a neat looking install.

i have seen those. they do look good with the under seat install and just the face up visible.

Where did you get the steel plates? Do you have a write-up for this? I think that’s a perfect placement for an antenna.

Also a ham, and have considered adding a 2m/70cm rig to my Titan for repeater use. I had thought about just drilling the driver front fender to match the passenger side radio antenna mount, but I need an antenna that is durable when striking tree limbs and such since I use my truck in the woods. Still working on how to implement beyond my HT. Of course, been working on it since 2011 so no hurry for me.

I use it very frequently so the placement works for me. The main reason I did it is because my center dash was already in pieces. I put it back together with plastic putty and figured I might as well cut it to fit the CB on there.

Thank you! I don't have a write up but it wasn't too difficult. The steel was scrap metal I found in my garage. Where it is mounted on the bed rail, there are indents in the plastic so I cut that out and used that as a template on the scrap metal. I then drilled a hole in the center of the metal rectangle for the antenna and drilled three holes to mount it on the metal bed frame (which is beneath the plastic bed rails).
