The NAV controls are along the left side of the screen or by touching the screen itself. It really doesn't matter if the NAV controls are a reach, as you cannot control the NAV(most features), while moving.
A Wurlitzer 1020 juke box can't compare to that interior. Talk about a mishmash. Looks like three different guys styled it, and Toyota just stuck 'em all together...That dash reminds me of an old joke. A camel is a horse styled by committee...that dash is "the camel."

I wouldn't call the gage cluster boring. I would say that it is very busy and or complicated.
Using the buttons on the dash, you can pull up a 3 or 4 line screen that allows
you change a lot things, such as adjusting the parameters of the TPS, what lights go on when you open the doors and how long they stay on, or use the fob, which doors lock/ unlock
with the fob, changing the HVAC parameters, maintenance schedules, and a bunch of other things I haven't tried yet.
The gages also tell you your instant mpg, average mpg, miles to go before empty, trip timer.
You can also change the tilt sensors for when the side air bags go off, or just turn the airbags off.

Well, you are wrong! The latch is a two stage latch, the Line-x prevented me from using the second stage, that is why there was so much slack in the tailgate.

I had a 2004 Titan SE KC..the tailgate rattled and the fit and finish was lousy. There was slop in the driveshaft..an audible clunk appeared everytime you started out from a stop..I fixed it myself after the service writer at Nissan said it was "normal." How the hell he would know that when the truck had only been on the market for a coupla weeks, defies description. Since I also owned a 2004 F150 that had the same problem, I just greased the slip yoke..problem went away.


Other than that, it was an OK truck. My 2005 LE CC was better (pic in gallery), except for the brakes. The current 06 SE CC has been trouble free for 18 months (knock on wood).

Why would a person insist upon reaching for the controls when you have them at your finger tips on the steering wheel? You are really reaching to find problems.

Sky, not trying to cause issues, just thought you might have learned from the problems you had with your Titan. I hope you like your truck, and that it does well for you. But, chances are you are going to have more issues as time goes on.

I look at it this way...dashes should be ergonomically friendly...the Titan and F150 dash are, IMO, the Tundra isn't. The interior is confusing, the seats are too low, even when fully raised. No power adjustable pedals available. And the thing is fugly..from any angle. Would I have bought one if the power pedals were available, the seats were better and the truck wasn't so Avant Garde? Yes.


Quite frankly, I was highly disappointed with the new Tundra.

I guess I should clarify; I was talking about in front of the driver. Looks like a lot of silver plastic trim and a few circles. Lots of space with little in it.

No problem. I had a first year Tundra(2000) and I had it for 4 years and it never went to the dealer, so I didn't think to long about buying the new model.
The tailgate is a little different than the Titan. The Titan has a plastic liner on the tailgate, the Tundra doesn't, therefore you are doubling the thickness of the Line-x when you have the tailgate done.
The way I saw it, I had two choices, either adjust the latch or remove or shave the rubber bump stops down. I chose to try adjusting the latch first, which worked.
I should have checked the tailgate when at the Line-x dealer, but I didn't.
The one thing I am going to watch is the back up camera that is located in the tailgate latch. It is sure to take a beating, we shall see if it holds up.

I can understand your feelings about the pedals. Even though I had adjustable pedals on both my Titans, I never used them, I just left them the way were. We probably have very different body builds and shape, I guess I am lucky everything fits me. I am 5'10" and 160lbs soaking wet.
As far as looks go, I could care less if it looked like a VW bug, as long it is reliable and gets the job done. Traveling some 40 plus(two Titans) times to the dealer 150 miles round trip was to much for me in 3 years. I am just lucky I am semi-retired and self-employed, but would rather have stayed home.I didn't want to buy a new truck, but I was at the end of my rope.
I happen to like the looks, but I also like the the looks of the Titan, guess I am easy to please when it comes to vanity.
I really do miss the memory seats the Titan had, I don't know Toyota didn't include them.

You will be the one of the ultimate truck durability testers, and Toyota should compensate you after some time goes by.

Okay guys, I hope I don't have to keep repeating this too much. But you have got to get it right from now on. THE NAME OF THE NEW YOTA TRUCK IS BLUNDERA!!!! Got it? I should know, I drove one. I take my T's (yes my Titan & my T100) over that fugly pig any day. So let's shape up gentlemen, get it in line, and repeat after me...."BLUNDERA". Or you can spell it "Blundra" if you like.

The Tundra interior does look a bit like something put together by a 10th grade auto-shop class. At night it looks pretty good but in the light it looks like a bunch of jumbled mess. Titan, even XE, is much more refined looking.
 
The touch nav screen is a big improvement over the Nissan's. My wife's Sienna has one vs. my Titan's, much easier to punch in locations too.

The controls don't look all that bad or different. I don't like the 3 tone interior color scheme, but that's a personal preference, just like styling.
 
I think it is a nice looking truck. It probably will have quality issues like the Titan until a couple of more years pass. That being said Toyotas usually carry a premium price and unless I can catch a dealer with one stuck on a lot I'll just stick with my Titan. One of my favorite things about my Nissan Titan is the fact it is paid off. I do like the new Tundra though. Part of the reason is Toyota stole a few ideas from Nissan to improve the appearance of the truck. You know what they say about imitation.
