I wouldn't call the gage cluster boring. I would say that it is very busy and or complicated.
Using the buttons on the dash, you can pull up a 3 or 4 line screen that allows
you change a lot things, such as adjusting the parameters of the TPS, what lights go on when you open the doors and how long they stay on, or use the fob, which doors lock/ unlock
with the fob, changing the HVAC parameters, maintenance schedules, and a bunch of other things I haven't tried yet.
The gages also tell you your instant mpg, average mpg, miles to go before empty, trip timer.
You can also change the tilt sensors for when the side air bags go off, or just turn the airbags off.
