Bought a 2006 4x4 king cab. Had a frontier and a G35. Not entirely new to Nissan. Always liked the looks of this body style. I wish I could get the side moulding off. I don't care for it. But... It's pretty nice other than that. It's beat but I got it for cheap so I can afford to bring her back.

Cheers

nice. welcome to the club. i like the first gen body style too

Got the moulding and most of the chrome stuff off. Not a big bling fan. I'm cheap so she will look like this for a bit.

For any chrome you can't get off, you can always spray it with rattle-can bedliner to black it out.

Bodywise it's good. Paint is meh. It's got 120k so that's low enough. At some point the rear end exploded and it was sold at auction. PO bought it and had the rear end replaced and did the fluids and it sat for a bit... According to the neighbors ( she was outside so I asked... Didn't seek her out) like 2-3 years with minimal movement.
Like the receipts in the glove box and console were all from Kmart 2014 and back. It's mostly sat. Guy lost his license. I've seen this truck in the forum so I won't go into great detail but the PO is disposed for the next 3-5 years and his wife let her go pretty cheap.

I'm not a mechanic but I'm half *** mechanical. For fact I have the driver's side exhaust tick, the passenger side doesn't tick but it's been welded, the radiator was leaking when fully pressurized. One rim has been welded. The gas was kerosene at this point and the tank was bad. The front end is front ****. It smells badly of weed, I need a MAF, plugs (although oddly the wires look brand brand brand new) only one speaker works and the seats are splitting but it's low miles and it's 4x4 so I am game.
I sold my 7.3 f-350 cause I knew I could get a titan for cheap and kinda what to expect. I have lurked here and on nico club for yeeeeeaaars. She will be the daily. I just ordered 1500 in parts and 700 in tires. I paid 4300. I figure all said and done I'll have less than half what I sold the 1ton for but we shall see.
I don't think I can handle the headers on my own. I know it will be pricey. I also know nothing of programming or ecus or tuning... One particularly opinionated member claims you don't have to tune once you fix exhaust... I've read a lot about it and that's probably my biggest unknown.othwr than that it runs like a raped ape so I think I did alright. I have sported Toyotas for 15 years or so. Hoping to get similar results jumping back into Nissan. Power-wise it doesn't have the butt dymo feel of the wife's 5.7 tundra quad but I am averaging 14.9 mixed. The tundra is 11 no matter what the hell ya tried

I think you got a good deal and once you get it cleaned up and those litle issues fixed, i think you will be very happy.

Well I got all the front end stuff... Hoping to have a hand this weekend to put it all together. Seems like low miles for it to be worn out but is what it is.

I also ordered fitted seat covers from cover king which was expensive like 300 bucks but I had them on my old truck they are nice

headlights... Just regular-*** head lights by TYC. Nothing fancy just a good oem equivalent and some silver star ultra bulbs.

For the high pressure power steering hose replaced. It was pretty well gone. New aluminum radiator

2 part radiant grey acrylic enamel and some clear to hit the paint fade.

Found some 7 spoke 17s on a much nicer titan and bought new tires.

I have good driving lights I'm gonna stick in the fog light buckets.

Oh and shocks.... I can't remember blistiens or KBY... One that a bunch a guys here run.

I have a bad back and I don't know many people here so I will get it done but it may be slow.

I guess I'll post updates here? Didn't see like a build section. Not a build I guess just a refresher

sounds good.

probably bilsteins

people always ask about seat covers so once you get done, post more pictures

Welcome. That sounds like an excellent catch.

As an fyi, 30 minutes with an ozone generator will kill the weed odor, any other odor, and any mold or bacterial crud lurking in the HVAC system.

CAUTION! If you go the ozone route, after the treatment let the truck air out and DO NOT inhale the ozone stuff. Doing so can be fatal, or otherwise make you wish you had stayed with the weed...

We use to use them on big rigs at Penske. They were no smoking but you know how that goes. I didn't know you can rent them . I'll check it out. My neighbor owns an equipment rental. Maybe he's the guy Thanks

Well I rented one. 20 bucks. It's smells really strange inside but I don't smell tar or smoke anymore. Thanks for the suggestion!

So I have read a lot about the manifolds and to replace them with headers... I think I'm gonna have to do so but I don't care about performance, sound, any of that. I just want it to run right.
As I understand it you can buy some brand of headers that you just weld your stock stuff back to. No programming or whatever. Has anyone done that? I don't want this ol girl to be any louder and I think I'd rather just flip it than spend two grand in the exhaust. If I do this does anyone have any personal experience with fixing this without all the computer programs and other stuff I don't need??

i have seen those on a few trucks here. they look good
