We purchased our 2021 Titan new in December 2021. Now at the time the salesman told us that it was a Pro-4X, purchase price was $66K with the scheduled maintenance package. It has "Pro-4X" graphics, mud flaps, and stitched seats.

Went to trade it in at the Chevy dealer on a new truck and huckleberry comes back with a trade allowance of $37K? Dude said the VIN comes back as a Titan XD, not "Pro-4X"?? So now we have to take a $29K loss to trade it in after driving the truck for 20 months?

Haven't been screwed that hard since I was an alter boy.

Did the salesman misrepresent the truck intentionally to rip us off? What a smack in the face.

My guess is the Chevy dealer is jerking your chain. Run your vin online and see what you get.

You will take a major loss trading at 20mo on a new truck, regardless. Depreciation on new vehicles is insane. Usually around 25% in the first thirty seconds after you sign the paperwork, and down from there.

A quick check of NADA shows an estimated value for a 2021 Pro4X to be somewhere in the $43-48k space for resale right now, and trade values in the $38-41k range. Screenshot attached.

Seems like I jumped the gun here without researching properly. The Titan "XD" trim level determines the value of the truck. Ours is an "XD" - "Pro-4X". Which can also be a "Platinum Reserve" or "SL" or "S".
Chevy dealer got me hot under the collar...

Yes , you are correct. We have an offer from Carvana for $41K to sell it to them. $2500 more if we trade it in with them.

But you lose the sales tax savings from trading it in so you’re not ahead there either.

Give me the last 8 of your Vin number and I can send you all of the information on your truck. I am the parts manager at a Nissan dealership or if you're not comfortable putting it on here email me at cgeorg@sames.net.
I found a VIN decoder that worked. Thanks for the offer.

no they don’t. You need to shop at better dealers. My wife’s forester and my Titan, but were bought at no haggle pricing, way under KBB fair price ranges. If your dealership is still making sales like the the 90s, look for different dealerships
