The subframe is cracked on my 2014 pro4x with 140k miles on it.. I can see where it's cracked right at the bolts for the rack and pinion right at the welds that the bolts go through on the side of the subframe closest to the radiator, so opposite the nuts that screw onto the bolt holding the rack and pinion to the subframe. Started out as possible when the suspension flexed while turning, then went away ultimately but I poked my head under there out of curiosity and there it was. Anybody experience this? Is it a fixable issue?

Right where the bolt spacer thing meets the subframe.. I can't see much more without taking my skid plate off which I don't feel like doing, however that crack closes up when I turn the wheel all the way to the left (pic is taken with wheel pinned to the right) so I know it's a crack and will be worth either fixing, or taking an impact and sending her home to tighten that back up.. my rack also moved about a quarter inch side to side when turning the wheel

its that welded on spacer, right at the bottom where it sits on the frame?

i would retorque the bolt and have a shop reweld that bead. it looks like it was welded with not enough penetration

What type of shop do you think? A dedicated metal fab shop or a suspension shop that thinks they can weld because they have one in the corner?

Call and ask both. An exhaust shop might also be able to do it and maybe cheap/free

Go to an auto body shop. they're certified to repair vehicle frames so I'd start with them. We had a member who's rear spring shackle mounts rusted off and that was his avenue for repair. he took it to a body shop and they cut off the old hangers and welded on a new set PRG fabbed up.

Have you solved it?
I have solved it.. took it to a diesel shop after I sent a pic of it he said bring it by.. he slapped an ugly weld on it but it gets the job done so I'm happy, ran me $150.. still a little movement in the steering rack but that's probably just a need for new bushings.. does anybody make polyurethane bushing for the first gen titan anymore?

if not, there is probably some other vehicle with the same size bushings that you can use
