It’s a bumper to bumper warranty, now what’s their issue? There is also a federal emissions to look into as well.

Straight from Nissan if dealers says not covered Nissan goes with it. Contact Nissan and file a complaint that gets wheels turning. Also the local BBB will help getting wheels turning.

 

Where are you located? Some opinions are that this mostly affects colder climates.

 

Thanks for the response. I am from Iowa so yes, this is a colder climate. I have reached out to Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if that can make some progress on this.

If you've bought 20+ rigs from that same dealer, you might try bypassing the service dept and get the general manager involved. Remind them of how many rigs you've bought from them and see if they're interested in rewarding your loyalty.

also extended warranties have exclusion also, check your papers…

As an example the lock mechanisn on your door is wanrrantied 12 month !!

 

Looks like oxygen sensor are only 3 years warranty… its in the booklet.

maybe insist on the fact that they replaced your engine latelty and they were working fine before…

Where in Iowa are you? Just because you've bought 20+ vehicles from one dealer doesn't mean the sales staff have anything to do with the service staff. Without throwing shade at any dealership, there's a reason my brother bought his Rogue from the dealer down the road from him but will drive the 64 miles one way to get it serviced.

 

One question, is it still under warranty? You say it is a 2017- those are all coming off warranty this year; by now about half would be out of warranty. Did you time out while the repair was going on?

 

Following the thread, as I'm dealing with an engine knock on my 19 Titan SV. as well and the dealer is saying they don't hear it.

 

It may (will most likely) become an issue of making the evidence obvious. Get an automotive stethoscope and isolate the “touch points” where the sound is clear, then insist he listen. Take a witness with you.

Make them scope the cylinder and look for scoring.

Thank You Clint, I just bought it off Amazon for like $89.00 is the Business price as I have a business account with them that I can charge on. Thanks for the advice too, am going today for an appointment with the GM at the Dealership I bought the Titan from a Nissan Dealer. I'll keep ya'll posted on what he says and does about it.

Time to get rid of that vehicle. Period parts availability is going to become very difficult. Might as well get the best resale value our prices are still high. I got a very good deal trading in my titan for my F250

I have a 2018 Nissan titan with 59,000 miles. I had the same situation with my engine knocking took it to one dealership they could not hear it. I took it back to another dealership where I bought it and they replace the whole short block, assembly brand new as of now, there is no noise but will continue to listen as time goes on. I don’t know if I’m going to keep this or not will get back to you all.

Welcome to the forums. Glad to read they took care of you in good order.

For my part, I enjoy the Titan more than any previous truck I've owned, and since my short-block replacement the engine is noise free (except for the normal valve train noise and such).

Very likely I'll stay with it, at least for as long as we are camping and need to tow my wife's periodic campsite castle.

I’m staying with the Titan for several reasons, the foremost being 1) it’s paid for, and 2) the core of the engine is new. I don’t see it going belly up on me before I go on to my reward.

I do hope Nissan comes back after a few years with a reworked Titan. Somebody in their marketing department has to be afflicted with crainal rectunitus, because they have utterly failed to promote the truck on the value of its merits.

i don't buy a vehicle planning on keeping its value high for trade in so i am not worried about trading mine in. vw quit making karmann ghias years before i got mine. shoot, they quit making bugs years before i got the karmann ghia and i could still get parts for the ghia. i am not worried a bit about lack of parts because i know someone will provide parts for the armada, which shares so much with our trucks. and titans will start showing up in the junkyard so i can get parts there, too.

and my truck is our travel truck so its not racking up tons of miles anyways. if i need another truck, i will just have two trucks

 

My wife tried to trade the titan for a 1794 tundra today. It was a 2019, so not the ugly large mouth bass turbo ones but it just didnt have anything my titan was missing and had a higher price. I told her no, my truck was fine and i had no desire to get rid of it.

I told she could trade her car for it, which she strongly considered but decided the tundra was to big for her. Then she almost got a limited model tacoma. That was a nice truck for her. But in the end, she said no and we still have her touring edition mazda3.


Her problem is she wants the 360 view camera and heated seats but everything with that costs alot.
