driving around town today , keys were making noise slapping on dash , went to unhook clip from the rest of keys and accidently shut engine off. was doing about 35-40 mph when it happened , pulled over in about 200 feet or so. can anyone tell me if i possibly did any damage to the motor or trans. thanks.........:bangit:

rpm's were low , was coasting at the time. went out and started truck and seems like i have a slight tick or knock. here it on the drivers side. i'll be pissed if i screwed somethig up.

what?!!!! uh no the oil is not pumping when the engine is shut off.:bangit:
turning the ignition off while drive is no different than running out of gas

i think you just think that there is something wrong, because you're expecting something to be wrong.
you and your truck will eventually be fine. give the truck a good night sleep, driver her for 2 miles, and come back and see me in the morning.

drove truck to work this morning, everything seem ok. didnt here the noise after start-up or after driving to work.. thanks for the support guys. little things like that make me crazy ( anal , especially if i screwed it up).

YES!! most amazing thing ever. I did this a couple times in my 75 vette with sidepipes with the original engine . The engine was just about dead so I figured what the heck...never seemed to hurt it though.

You should be OK...the truck should coast to a stop. These trucks are built with all sorts of fail safes in them...other than where we need them..LOL
