This may be a stupid question but I was just wondering if the Titan came standard with an alarm? Or does it only come standard in the SE and LE models only? I ask because the carsalesman at the dealership I went to said that it came with an alarm for an extra $600. But when I was on Nissan's website it showed an alarm system and vehicle immobilizer but didn't note it just for certain models. If anyone could clear this up for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks. -whistler

I believe the SE and LE come standard with the alarm. It should be listed under standard features on your paper window invoice.

I have an 04 LE crew and I don't have an alarm. On the sticker it said "qualifies for factory alarm" The dealer removed it saying it was only $200 under his breath.

The security system came with the Preferred package on my XE CC. I believe the only standard security feature on these trucks is the veh immobilizer (chipped key), I think. Personally, I think you're better off having a good aftermarket sec system installed. The factory system doesn't seem to be much more than a keyless entry system to me.

I was wondering the same thing. On my sticker it said that my SE CC came equiped with an alarm and the manual said to lock the doors, then wait thirty seconds fort the alarm icon to stop blinking. Once it stops blinking the alarm is activated. The only thing is that I can't seem to make it go off? I kicked the tires, dropped the tailgate, etc. and it never went off???

If you are sitting in the car and lock it with the remote control, then the alarm will go off, in other words if somebody breaks a window and pulls the lock to open the door, then the alarm will be trigered. so I think the alarm does a good job they can try to take something from my titan, but as soon as they open it. bbeeeep beeeppp...

Also my CC XE with prefered package came with the remote control at no extra charge.

if you arm your truck and have it opened from inside, your alarm will go off. I believe if you have the factory key fob, you have the basic alarm system which doesn't have sensors to detect motion and vibrations, just the opening of doors and windows forcefully.

I thought it would trigger by a door opening, only......not by breaking a window, but I could be wrong. Sure, if someone breaks the glass and then opens a door, the alarm will go off, but what if someone just wants to break a window and then proceed to jack all your stuff :crying: .......kinda worthless. I guess bottom line is, car alarms aren't that much of a deterent anyway, but I think it's better than nothing at all.

Nissans system does not detect motion or breaking glass, and is not effected by opening the tailgate. It is only triggered if the vehicle door or hood is opened fron the inside. Someone would have to break a window and open it from inside in order for the system to activate...or if you parked it with the windows open and someone reached in and unlocked it, opened the door, it would go off.
All SE and LE models have the Security Alarm AND Vehicle Immobilizer system as standard equiptment. You have to get the XE preferred package to bet those systems on the XE and that's only available on the Crew Cab models. KCs can't have either system.
This holds true for both 2004 and 2005 models.

If I had an LE without this system, I'd want to know why. They come from the factory this way and can't just be REMOVED by the dealer on a whim.
