ok guys i need some help on this, im going crazy over here to say the least!! i have everything setup except that i dont have my subwoofer yet and here are my problems so far...

1. my capacitor is reading 8 volts when my amp is turned on, where as if i were to test my capacitor with the amp not there it will read 12 volts and when i put a voltmeter on the conectors on my amp it reads like 4-5 volts! WTF! would it be doing this because it has no load?

2. i installed my davide navone NE-774V and according to my voltmeter im getting 0 volts, i was going to wire it up according to this
http://www.titantalk.com/forums/tit...forums/titan-visual-audio-discussion/33852-wire-color.html?highlight=wire+color
but i quickly found out that there is NO WAY that is the correct wiring for this radio because those colors are found on 3 different conectors and i think that i never even found 2 of them..... also there isnt a wire in place 15 on plug M44..... luckily someone was kind enough to post a pic of how they wired theres up on there wiring harness
http://www.titantalk.com/forums/att...s/titan-interior-discussion/4657-rf-speaker-upgrade-rfupgrade1.jpg?d=1098158039
so i spliced into the wire places that were on that harness onto the conector for my headunit

3. even when nothing but the power is wired into the amp the protect light will turn on for a split second then shut off but the protect light that is on the controller never turns on

please guys i need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im about ready to pull my hair out becasue of this setup........

You may have a bad amp. The last time I hooked up the aftermarket wiring harness, everything fell in color for color and so should that adapter. I just think you have a bad amp, you may be able to bring it in to a local stereo shop and see if they can test it for you if they're nice enough.

well ill take my amp to radio shack here in a bit and see of they can test it, if not i may be screwed because they are like the only local audio place, so if they dont i guess ill go out of town for a test but i would still be interested in a proper way of installing an LOC on the factory headunit that HAS the RF packedge

i will try to get a couple pics up shortly of what everything looks like if i can find my stupid camera

Have you tried to hook up your amp not using the capacitor.
no actually i havent yet but that sounds like a good thing to try

How do you have that cap wired up? should be positive on one side and negative on the other right?
yeah i have it wired up right there is a positive and a negative engraved on the plastic top so i atleast got that right

but there is some good news i guess at some time past 12 im going by radio shack to let them check my amp out and im going to have the install guy properly conect my LOC in, i guess having someone check and install the small stuff is beter then doing something wrong and ****ing everything up

Well, I can tell you right now that the amp you are using, if you are getting 1600w out of it, is more that your alternator can handle.

But in any case I would say bad amp. to test it run a wire from your battery for the ground and power, and jump the power wire into the remote. See if your protect goes on then

When attempting to read voltage out of the NE-774V, be sure to have your meter set to read A/C volts. And it will be way low, less that 1 volt, if you have have the NE-774V tapped upstream of the RF amp, so set your meter to the appropriate scale if that is required.

well i took my truck to radio shack and the guy pretty well told my why im getting bad volt readings, the capacitor came with instructions on how to wire it (how i have it wired) but apparently the guy said the positive and negative need to be wired to the capacitor then the battery and ground wire on top of those conections....

so im going to do that and it sounds logical to get rid of my voltage problems and he is going to wire the LOC up for me properly for like 15 bux so i should be good again here soon

Yes, the capacitor is wired in parallel with the amp to the battery.
