will this work with the 2nd gen? how does that mount?

 

I am not sure if it would work. someone else may know. The 2 black brackets slide into the utility track and tighten with the knobs. The extender sits in the bracket and flips out and in, when out there are 2 straps that connect to the tailgate posts (striker bolts).

They work. I have a first gen extender and brackets on my truck. You have to move the straps a little so they latch in properly though
