I have a 2010 pro 4 x and i want to upgrade my rotors and pads. I see lots of packages on eBay for $220-$600. I don't want to spend more than i need to but i don't want to get crap rotors and pads. Anyone order brakes from eBay and have recommendations as to what i should get or even a brand or website i should order from? $300 is my cap on what i can spend. Thanks

You can also call them and they will hook it up. They have great customer service.

I did the $200 package of all 4 rotors and all the pads off ebay and i had no problems at all. They had a real good feel to them.

Not to take anything away from tap at all, just my experience. I always prefer to support the vendors on here but i couldnt pass up that price.

I am not that all familiar with the R1. I have been leaning towards the Powerstop Towing Kit for my brake upgrade. Obviously for towing my TT. The OEM brakes get the job done. However I prefer better braking when towing. Anyone here use the R1's as it applies to towing? And which kit do you recommend? Thanks.

I have the R1s with ceramic pads and I tow a 4500 or so pound boat with my truck a couple times a month, and while I love the rotors I would recommend against ceramic pads in the context of towing. The ceramics do stop well, and I have very very very little brake dust (my biggest reason for choosing ceramic), but they lack the initial bite that conventional pads have which leads to a little bit less confidence while towing. I believe the most recommended pad for towing (at least that you buy on R1) is the centric fleet performance pad.

I bought double drilled an slotted rotors from a company called ATL motorsports for my girls honda pilot a couple years ago. Awesome price an work great. Was so impressed I bought a set for my T an paired em with hawk pads. They didn't disappoint. The front rotors were a little over $115 an a little less for the rear. Hawk front pads were about $70-$80. I bought off amazon tho not eBay.
Good luck!

i've had magnum cross drilled rotors for over 2.5 years and to this day, has not warped and has barely rusted. its survived through some snow in the winter and also, I drive hard so I stop hard as well.

I went with oem brake pads and surprisingly, there hasn't been much brake dust. I was scared to go with posi-quiet since I put posi-quiets on my clk before and they were anything but quiet...

Thanks for the advice Fellas. I actually was considering installing these on my wife's Pilot as well. Still not sure what I am going to do. My wife only works with numbers and experiences. Told her the price of the upgrade and did not go so well. When I was cut off on the highway towing our TT to the site we are at now and nearly rear ended this Moran, the first thing she said was get those brakes installed when we get back. S a almost bad experience actually worked out well for me.

R1 concepts slotted premium rotors here with their fleet performance pads. I have an 08.5. The rotors are made by Centric who also supplies Stoptech and powerslot, R1 concepts just machines the slotting and drilling in house. Great customer service though and should give a discount. I'm overall happy with them.

I only did the fronts. I am still using the rear rotors/pads with 102k miles lol. Truck stops great.

Granted anything is better than OEM titan rotors/pads.

When its time to replace pads down the road again, i'm gonna go with Wagner Thermoquiets, i've heard great things about them.

I just put these on 2 weeks ago. It's the Ebay package from brake motive. The rotors and pads are Kinetic which are made by Powerstop. So far they are smooth, quiet and better than stock.

I'd advise against EBC based on my experience with them. The fronts I pulled off were causing noise and bad vibration. I only had them on for 15-20K.
