Bully Dog reg tune vs premium tune data log

I finally ran some logs on the BD regular tune with +2 timing and compared them to the BD premium logs. At the track, my Titan ran faster each time running the reg+2 tune than the premium tune on two different trips. That includes running the premium tune with +2 timing and 0 and -2 timing. I only logged RPM, timing and AFR volts banks 1 and 2. My software is slower than Uprevs, so I recorded both AFR banks on 4 separate lines to get more readings.

What I found was each BD+2 timing tune (reg and premium) ran fairly identical. That being the timing ran up to 35-36 degress at about 5500 RPM, neither showed any detonation where the timing got pulled other than shift point. Now the difference was in the AFR, the premium tune ran 12.9-13.3, and the regular tune ran a 12.5-12.9 AFR. It appears my Titan runs a bit faster in the 12.5-12.9 AFR range. Anyway, I thought I would share my findings.

I ran with a mix of 89 and 93 octane. Previously, I track ran with all 93 octane and all 89 to see if there were any performance differences. The 89 octane performed just as well as the 93 on different tune selections with and without timing added or subtracted.

Doesnt it take a few hundred miles for the ECU to learn the new tune? I was wondering if you took the time for it to hit the new values or if you did this all in one day? I could be wrong but I think I read something on here about the ECU learning and my 06 felt like it took time to see a real difference when I got a new tune from uprev. That could have been just me though.

There's no learning with a tune. That's why they able to do dyno tunes the same day.

It does take a short time to to learn before hitting its fuel targets. But if the targets are close it will learn very fast. The titan loves fuel. under 13 AFR is where you wanna be. Actually i think optimum is 12.86 AFR
