Hey guys, I just installed my Bully Dog programmer in my Titan, Everything went fine until I turned my Truck off after driving around and testing out the truck. The programmer didn't power down when I turned my Truck off. During the install I tried to use the 10 fuse but with the fuse tap the fuse would not fit , I used the 15 fuse. Is it fine to run the programmer like this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stupid question: Did you stick the fuse in the end of the fuse tap, then stick the fuse tap in the fuse panel? As far as the unit NOT powering down…it sounds like you have the power selector switch on the control box, which plugs into the module under the dash, on battery. If so, yes, the unit will not power down because it is drawing power directly from your battery….

Okay, find that little black box with the switch, is it in the battery position, or key? While it is in battery, it will always be powered. While it is in the key position, it will only be powered while the key is on. So, yes, if you select key on the box, the BDGT should power down as long as the key is in the off position.

Do you have the fuse tap still plugged in? If so, pull it. Check to see if it powers down.

Not sure what the 15 fuse controls, but it may not be a switched power source and may stay hot. If that's the case, it won't matter what setting the box is on, it would stay powered.... Just a thought.

make sure you are on the proper side of the fuse. I just put the bare wire in the and pushed the fuse in on it and works great.

Yeah some of the fuses in the fuse box are a constant on, some are only on when the key is turned. It will say on the fuse box cover either Batt or Acc. next to the fuse location. Just discovered this myself when wiring my amp remote switch.

OK guys I have fixed the problem of the programmer not powering down , I changed it to a different fuse. I have one other question for you guys when I put my key to the on position there is a humming noise coming from under the hood. When I start my titan the noise goes right away. Is this a normal noise that happens ?

I am always more cognizant of noises after I have done work on my truck, doesn't mean they weren't there before, just notice them after working on it. Is it a couple second buzz or a constant buzz? Mine does it for about 2 seconds and then stops, I am assuming while the pressure builds up.
