I was just curious if anyone has a CB in their Titan and if so what Antenna do you have and where is it mounted? Pics would be great and prices on the set ups as well.

Thanks

well when i had my tacoma i was running a 4' firestick with a tunable tip and when i tuned it i was in lousiana hitting trucks in texas, now if they were actually in texas idk they were talking about it like they were though. my buddy ran a little wilson magnet mount with the 36 in whip and we could pick eachother up 10-15 miles away crisp as hell

That antenna that is mounted on the hood. It sits above the body? And does it interfere with opening and closing the hood?

I was looking into mounting the antenna on the rear bumper.

I have both a midland 277 cb radio and a yeasu 2900 mounted on the left side of the center console in a couple of brackets I made. The ham antenna is a short 2m magnet mount on the roof just behind the sunroof and the dual cb antennas are mounted on the ladder rack on top of the camper shell. I can talk about 35 miles on the cb and its about 50 miles as the crow flies to hit the repeater that I typically use.

I'd love to see a pic of your brackets, Eggman. My son and I are Technician class, and I've been thinking of how to get a mobile rig mounted in my truck. I'm thinking, as far as antennas go, of drilling a matching hole in the driver side fender to where the radio antenna is on the passenger side, and mounting a 2m/70cm antenna there. With the right antenna (spring mount, spring steel whip) I should do fairly well in the woods. Either that or I'm going to rig up a QR mount to go in the utilitrack centered behind the cab. My ground plane and radiation pattern would be perfect there...

Here ya go, Dubyam. Brackets should be about a 1/4" taller, but they work for me. I used to have to lay everything out by hand and cut with a jigsaw and then spend time cleaning up the edges, so on and so forth. Now I just draw it out in acad, dump it into the computer, and cut it out on the cnc plasma table. I love that thing.
