I just got into a set of the Hankooks...they are awfully quite for an MT...only been in the mud once and they did well (lugs cleared themselves well, just dont let the mud dry in between the sidewall lugs...I scrubbed those b!tches for ever)....and the best part...they have been champs in the rain, which was my biggest concern (we get tons in Houston). Obviously I cant give you any input on longevity yet, but so far I dig em.

 

thats great, rain is one of the biggest factors for me since the offroading i do is very light. how wide are you running?

 

12.5 with no rub what so ever on a 6ish" lift.

 

no complaints here about my hankook m/t. ride extremely well for how aggressive they are. ive only had them for a couple months now, so still not certain about the wear. ive heard with a steady rotation youll get very good mileage out of them as well.

 

I can also vouch for how quiet the Hankook MTs are. Very impressed so far. Hard to believe they are aggressive tread.

both tires i am sure are great but i perfer the look of the cooper

 

I think either way Cooper or Hankook you won't be disappointed!!! I have a set of the Cooper S/T's and love em, if it weren't for the deal I got on them I was probably on my way to purchasing the Hankooks.......

I can't vouch for the Hankoooks, but I can about the Cooper STTs. So far, it's the best tire I've ever purchased. Like you I had concerns in the rain/snow/ice and running a M/T tire. With the Coopers, those aren't a problem. The siping on the tires help tremendously in fowl weather. Also, road noise is almost equal to the BFG A/Ts I had on mine previously. Wear wise, I've run close to 5,500 miles on mine so far with no signs of wear. I hope to get close to 40k out of these tires because they're not that cheap.

If I had to buy another set of M/T tires tomorrow, I would, without a doubt, go buy the STTs again.
