Hey everyone. I'm starting to kinda browse around at new trucks. Looking at getting a new one sometime next year. Yes I look around that far in advanced. Don't get in a hurry and make sure get what I want.

I'm set on a 4x4 crew cab. Of course Titan is first in lineup that am considering and want to know the main differences between the regular 4x4 and pro. Main difference I've noticed is interior. Leather seats in pro and cloth in other. Personally I'm fond of cloth because leather seats in Mississippi suck. You have to peel yourself off them every time because it's so muggy here.

So what's all the main differences between the regular 4x4 Titan and the pro? Doesn't the pro have upgraded shocks and such? just weighing out options on if the differences would be worth the cost increase for the pro. Thanks for all the tips and comments.

E locker, 3.36 gears, Rancho struts and shocks, red piping on the interior, solid color matched bumpers.

I like skid plates. I was telling my wife just other day set on a 4x4 crew cab and all. She said are you going to need all that? You don't do anything now that needs it. Just stared and said because I'm 2 wheel drive. I'm not gonna go bouncing off serious off road and mud holes in it knowing I'll be stuck. Gimme a 4x4 and I'll use it.

I'm still running my stock Ranchos. I could probably tell a huge difference changing them out, but they are fine for now.

Nice. How's that e locker do? I know it can't be as good as a tru trac but I've heard some people say it's junk and immediately replace it without evening trying it. Also some say it's good.

Depending on what you want to do, cloth seats can be found in a pro4x, but extremely rare. Pro 4x skid plate and brackets can be purchased on ebay for just over $100 and put on, trutrac can be added easily, since the Elocker only works in 4 lo, in my opinion the Trutrac is much better. Rancho shocks can also be replaced very easily, OEM struts are not that great, regardless of whether they are Ranchos or not. Find an SE with 3.36 gears (if you feel you need them) and add the rest. The 3.36 gears will reduce you MPG's a touch, but if you need the towing capacity, you will need them (2.94 gears = 7200 pounds, 3.36 gears =9200 pounds).

Yea every pro I've seen has been leather. What it'll probably boil down to in the end is if can find a pro for a steal. Otherwise go for regular 4x4 and do like you said fishin, just add to it. I'll probably want the 3.36 gears just to be on safe side. I plan on investing into a tractor as well down the road and rather be safe than sorry whe. It comes to towing. I've towed my uncles tractor with my current truck before but don't think I'd like to do it regularly.

A TruTrac is a gear based Limited Slip, not a actual locker.
The E locker that comes with the Pro4x is the same on that comes on Jeep Wrangler Rubicons, but the gears & axle housings are weaker on the Titan.
Rancho 5000''s are the bottom of the barrel shocks, I had 3 blown ones @16k miles.
Watch the weight of the tractor & trailer, Titans are only a 1/2 ton & the 9300# tow rating isn't a realistic number.

The 17 Pro4X come with Bilstein shocks.
I live in Lousiana (below I-10) and got my 17Pro loaded, came with cooling/heating in the seats. I'd say this is my first 4x4 but she is a beast compared to my old 07. But the gas mileage is something to get use too. Also the ride of a 4x4 is a little stiffer.
I kinda looked at it like owning a gun with the 4x4, better to have and not need, then to need and not have.

Yea I'm the same way about 4x4. Can always use it.
Yea the tractor my uncle has is a 45 horse 4x4 diesel kiote. Basically a kubota. Don't want or need one that size. Thinking a 25-35 horse max diesel 4x4 with small bucket. Nothing bigger. They're a lot easier to maneuver in the woods than the big ones.
I thought the tru trac was a true locker. Could always look into getting an actual locker down the road.

New or used Titan?
All the new ones have the same gear ratio.
I'm over here doing the same research you are.

It'll be used when buy one. No way could do brand new. Plus think a vehicle note nearly as high as a house note is crazy. I'm just kinda putting feelers out now. It'll be next year when get it.
The new Titan and xd both have same gears?

1/2 ton Titan has 2.94 gears and the XD has 3.36 gears.

Yes same gears, same 7 speed transmission, but different engine.

My '17 KC Pro-4X (just picked up last week) came with Bilstein shocks. I haven't crawled underneath yet to see what model.

Believe they are the Bilstein 4600's

Well I just had my hopes lifted. Was just looking around on carfax and found a 2014 titan s pro 4x with the winch and everything id like to have on it. But the best part is CLOTH interior!!! So you can find one every once in a while. When comes time to buy ill be on lookout for one of those but most likely end up going with just the regular 4x4.
