Is it time yet to start planning our fall Picnic? It will take some time if we want to try to out do our last bash.

I am game! I had fun at the last one, We had great success so close to the dealership at Elk Grove park. Hopefully it will not be so hot.

Anybody have any ideas? We learned from the last one that Potluck is not feasible for so many people, So if we can not find a sponsor for the food again we can just have multiple people bring the same item, and keep to the basics. We also learned that set-up time is important, so a few people will need to volunteer to be at the park by 8am to set-up and get people parked as they arrive. Anybody remember any lessons that I am forgetting.

What date are we thinking?

I'm open on dates, and my suggestion would be to have it at the same location. That way everyone knows where it is and the accommodations were good there. But that's just my two cents. And I can be there by 0800 to help set up.

Also I think this time all the trucks need to be parked in the middle in two rows facing one another. Can get soooo much better pics of them all together that way.

I'm not even sure I want to float it by Elk Grove Nissan again we or somebody got under there skin and that's about all I know....

Needs to be a little more down to earth this time I think.... It won't be near as hot this time so we may not even need all the canopies and stuff like that Christa. Just tables and chairs.

Someone bring a G-Tech unit.....I want to play with it!

Lack of Response

We're not getting anywhere near the interest we did with the last proposed gathering. Either people are still on vacation or ????? Or should I hold my conclusion until we give people time to find our posts ?

On the first one...we went to every member that lived in the area and sent them a PM. Took alot of time and that's how alot of them found out. I don't think alot of people take the time to look down here. Unless they see it in the new topic screen...

What do you suggest we do?

I can try going back to the original picnic posts and sending messages to those who responded.

I'm in again. I had fun last time. It will be nice that its not so hot this time. I say we do basic stuff like burgers and dogs. keep it simple and just hang out you know?

Same place is good for me. I have family out that way.

Saturday, Sept. 24th.

I missed out last time, sorry!

However it sounds liek you all hat fun and I would like to take part this time.

Someone refered to "the place we went to last" - where is that?

As for dates I suggest Saturday, Sept. 24th.

Location

Where we had our last picnic was the park in Elk Grove, just off Hi 99. There's been no decision on where to have this picnic, but that seemed like a pretty good place. And I agree with the thought of keeping it simple, with just hot dogs and hamburgers. That would give everyone more time to look at trucks, kick tires and argue with Lon and Ron.

I missed the last one unfortunatley, but would be interested in this. I need a firm date before I can say yeh or nay, I've got alot things going on in September and October.

I might be able to make it. Depends on what date and time exactly. When it firms up please post the dates, time, location, etc. Also are you taking RSVPs?

Looks like interest is starting to spawn Stan!!! Now we need some dates thrown out there so we can take a poll and get this thing moving!

Shouldn't a Northern California meet be held in Northern California? I would like to go to a meet, but driving over 250 miles one way is to far.

Northern California Titan Picnic

Skyhammer, we may be more towards central California than you would like, but it really doesn't matter what we call it, most of us are from this part of the State, and holding our last Picnic in Elk Grove gave us a fantastic turn out, so I really don't think we need to change our location. You're welcome to join us, even if it takes a drive on your part, or, you can organize something up your way and invite everyone to come up there.

Dawgs, late September and October is pretty open for me, so if you have any suggestions for dates you might want to throw them out. Or do you want to take a poll and maybe leave it open for a week to get the most input ?

Maybe we can sweet talk Christa into initiating a poll on a date and time? Please Christa!!

Um, Elk Grove is pretty much smack in the center of Northern Kalifornia (if you assume a dividing line at Bakersfield). What other areas would you suggest?

When I had my Spottrac, I organized the Northern Kalifornia meet every year. We had it in Vacaville at Lagoon Valley Park. The idea was that we were 1/2 way between Sacramento and the Bay Area. It's a great spot that can hold hundreds of vehicles and might be a good alternative - just a suggestion.

Bakerfield is the dividing line between Southern and Central California. Bakersfield is closer to Sacramento than I am and the Northern border of California is nearly 200 miles North of me.

Most people consider EVERYTHING N. of the Grapevine N. Cali.

Some call Fresno to about Lodi the Central Valley. But Sac. has always been considered N. California by truckers....because simply put there isn't much beyond Sac be it on 101....5 or up 99. Most of the population is below Sac.

You welcome to hold your own meet up north....

But we realize we can't please everyone. Most members are from the central valley and bay area.

Uhhhh no North of the grape vine is just that.. North of the grapevine. Thats called Central CA. :)

250 miles is too far for a day trip with current gas prices (500 miles total, thats like 140$). If it's within 100 miles I can make it, fyi.

I am in the San FRancisco Area.. guess thats considered central.

I second your thought

Dawgs, I agree fully with you. We can never please everyone, and since we were very successful with our last picnic I propose that we hold this picnic in the same general area. Bay area folks and Northern Kalifornia folks are welcome to join us, but they are also welcome to organize their own picnic. Of course unless you attend both, they will miss the opportunity to make your acquaintance!! What a loss, hahaha. I've added the sway bar since our last meet, what have you done to your truck Dawgs? Has momma let you get any new goodies yet ?

Not to hijack the thread but, you Mt. Shasta/N. Calif. guys have a kick-arse Rock and Roll radio station in KZRO-Z100FM. I discovered it on the Windows Media Player several months ago and really enjoy the brand of rock & roll they play!! I envy y'alls weather reports every time I hear it too!! Hope y'all have a good meet!!! David.
