Looks like the Titan will finally has some competition from the Ford camp in 1 or 2 years. Looks like they are developing a mind blowing 6.2 liter motor that is aimed directly at the Hemi and Endurance.

What stinks is that I just bought a 2004 Ford-350 V-10 (Flatbed worktruck) and its already outdated. Ford revamped the V-10 (310hp) to push 355hp. Oh well.

With gas prices the way they are right now it's crazy that there is such a HP race between the manufactures. I dont get it.

Here's the link (note how they mention the Edurance V-8)

i think it's the American state of mind. When you want to live the American Dream and live big, you're not going to let a little thing like the price of gas stop you. manufacturers know this all too well.

Ford 5.4 liter is fine, all they have to do is just engineer it a little better, like in 4 valves per cylinder etc. Well there will be one plus to fords 6.2 liter.............we will have someone beat on gas mileage hehe

Dodge is also working on a larger Hemi that I read was in the low 6 liter displacement and delivering somewhere in the 425 horse range. There is an article on it in the Oct. edition of HOTROD magazine. They are already testing them in the desert in a 300M, a Magnum and a Grand Cherokee. I must say a 425 horse Grand Cherokee sounds very interesting.

This is insane that they are trying to keep outmatching each other while gas prices keep climbing. Honestly i thought toyota had the best idea by supposively making a gas electric hybrid tundra. We were just talking about automobile engines in my biology class. The teacher explained that they have a 3 to 10% efficiency rate which seems rather pathetic. Luckily i don't have to drive my truck that far.

3%? Sounds rediculously low. I've always heard it was in the 75-80% range. Your teacher doesn't happen to be a liberal democrat does she/he? I mean, she's/he's a biology teacher. Is the combustion engine curriculum in biology, or were they just ranting?

Apparently the newest hemi will be released in the SRT-8 a race inspired 300C
rated at 425 horses.

As the HP race continues the cosumer interested in such things will be the winners.
